I didn't know getting married in the church was still that popular. Maybe in Louisiana it is.

There is more to life than a football game. Once you figure that out you may enjoy life a bit more.
With that said, I enjoy some football as much as the next guy, but Im beyond the point where I get angry or too overjoyed by the wins and losses and it definitely does not have an influence on a decision such as attending a friend or family members wedding.

Really? I've been to nothing but weddings in churches other than the most recent one, and that was pushed up due to an illness in the family.

My wedding was on my parents property in a field under a large oak tree
I think Catholics care more about church weddings. And Catholic churches are generally nicer than Baptist churches so it would kinda make sense.

Hmmm... now that I think about it, I've been to plenty that weren't at churches. Mine wasn't.
The last one I went to was in NOLA at a church though.
The next one I'm going to is also in NOLA not at a church.

Yes. But the vast majority have been in the Church. I live in South Louisiana. Catholicism is a social class as much as a religion.

I know people that had their "actual" wedding,reception, etc, outside the church, then got "Catholic married" sometime later, without a reception or anything and just immediate family.

I went to one like that last Summer... except they had done the church ceremony a few days earlier instead of later. Then had the wedding at the girl's parents' property outside of Fort Collins. Real nice, Rocky Mountain backdrop, nice weather even in June.

I got married on the day of the Georgia game two years ago. As much as I enjoy LSU football, watching 18-19 year old guys roll around on the ground is not my primary concern in life.

Nah. Sorry, bro. But they were legally married the first time. That's not really how marriage works.
