Has anybody had their wedding reception at White Oak Plantation? If not, any recommendations on good venues?

Why didn’t you just put the question in the title?

Had mine there about 10 years ago. It was nice to have the ceremony and reception all at one venue. No complaints, except that my now ex-wife is a whore...

Mine will be at Houma's House near Gonzales next December. It's expensive, but it's gonna be dank.

We are considering Nola for sure. We are leaning towards New Orleans, but want to do our due diligence for both cities.

Pics of fiancee?
How much did you spend on the ring?
Are you trashy?
Are you fat?

As long as you have the reception on Nov 3rd, your wedding will be a huge success

I have been to weddings at White Oak.

That venue is hard to beat. Caterers are awesome.

November 3rd is a great date. It is the day before my birthday and I am sure LSU is on a bye the week before playing Alabama.

Houmas House seems like it would be awesome for a reception.

That place still blows me away even after going there several times for lunches and evening drinking

If price is an issue, Nola in general is going to be more. I got married in Nola. My sister got married in Baton Rouge and I helped with the contracts, etc. What I saw in general is that everything (venues, bands, buses, cake, caterers, photography, etc.) is more pricey in Nola. From the venue side, it was significantly more in Nola. I'm sure you can find outliers in both cities, but that's something to consider.
