I like the Pele who drive alone in their car wearing a mask.

By like I mean I like to laugh.

You just need 2 or even 3 masks.
I've got a camo one, a blue striped one, a solid blue one with BCBS or something on it, two purple LSU ones and two grey LSU ones. I take every opportunity to wear LSU items when out and about here in Ruston. The gray ones are my favorites.

Wearing a football helmet with a “face mask” on it is just as effective at flattening the curve and is a pretty good troll for all the compliance Karen’s out there.

Well, Pele is old. He can't be too careful. Plus, he lives in the Mecca of the Brazilian strain of the China flu.

I tend to agree, but if it’s crowded then maybe not. I know someone in S Korea right now. They have no problem with CV and they never really have. They wear masks, though - inside, outside, if they are entertaining at home, etc. They have their economy wide open, and it’s been that way throughout.

I sometimes find myself wearing mine outside. Not because I think I need it, but because I get tired of taking it off and putting it on when I go inside. I also just forget.

Almost everything anyone ever mandated regarding COVID was theatre

Way more optics than results.

As they say, “Mask mandates and lockdowns don’t slow a virus; wearing masks and isolating do.” We had mask mandates and isolation mandates here in Jefferson Parish, but folks routinely gathered in backyards and in homes with no masks. In those cases, you can’t say that wearing masks is fruitless. You can make an argument that mandating masks is fruitless.

It bothers me that folks on the conservative side - my side - claim that masks don’t do anything. This ignores the data which overwhelmingly shows that it does. Show me a country that universally wears masks - not has mask mandates - and I’ll show you a country that was able to do away with lockdowns. This is a FACT.

I won’t claim masks are ineffective, although the efficacy of cloth masks have been drastically overstated for situations where you must be next to people for prolonged periods. I will absolutely claim and back up with data provided by the CDC that mask mandates and lockdown measures barely moved the needle and the return on investment on these policies are extremely negative.

The CDC even says masks have been less than 2% effective!

Data now shows who is most at risk. There is no need to treat the whole population the same in managing this.

It’s all for optics now!!!

Masks outside are not appropriate. I agree.

The dispersion due to wind and humidity negates any need.

So is wearing it inside. Unless the mask is rated at filtering particles small in size as viruses, then the science 100% says that it won't filter out airborne viruses.

And the whole 'water droplet' bullshite they were spewing is pointless to wear a mask for, unless you are constantly being spat on or spit on others. Even if that were the case, you still got eye holes and other openings in the body that the viruses can easily flow through, but you don't see any hype job for those holes to be covered.

There is no OBJECTIVE criteria whatsoever relative to the necessity for "lockdowns". It is COMPLETELY subjective. I think you would agree that masks don't prevent the spread of the virus. There is no complete eradication. So the only criteria relative to whether or not lockdowns are "necessary" is what degree of illness/death is the leader of that particular country willing to live with? Or in other words, completely subjective to his/her whim. There is no agreed upon benchmark of acceptable risk or level of infection. One leader may think a 2% infection/death rate is entirely too high and thus mandate lockdowns continue. Another may think 4% is an acceptable level and end all restrictions.

Hell, just in the US California has been one of the stricter states in terms of restrictions whereas Florida has been one of least restrictive states...and the rates of death between the two are roughly the same. Which means the necessity for lockdowns is completely subject to the whims of those states governors.

The virus itself didn't implement "lockdowns". PEOPLE ordered lockdowns. And only PEOPLE can remove them. Compliance with wearing mask has nothing to do with the implementation or removal of lockdowns...FACT!
