yep. While telling morons they are for "less government." Then Republicans double the national debt (or even triple it in Reagan;s case.) "Small government" George W. Bush was responsible for the largest expansion in government since FDR.

With that, I say this - if you're a white male, you're born in America with a leg up.

So you’re telling me that although I was born to parents that didn’t finish high school, had no money, manual labor jobs, and I lived my first 15 years of my life in a shotgun house built by my dad that had very little insulation, and I went to public school that I somehow had a “leg up” on millions of middle/upper class minorities born all over America the same year I was born?

All I'm saying is, would you rather be you in that exact situation, or, a black man?

I literally just had the police called on me a couple of hours ago, in a children's doctors office because a 10 year old barely stumbled over the feet of my 16 year old - the mom wanted to press charges for assault because my slouched down, staring at his phone teenager "intentionally" tripped her son because he's a "prejudiced little white boy".

Was honestly thinking this today. We white men should be held in the highest regard in society. White men have gotten this country to where it is today. To be fair most of the world owes a great debt of gratitude to white men

You are comparing two different things here. Compared to minorities born in the same situation, you do have a leg up. A minority or woman coming from the same background isn't given the same credibility as you are as a white male.

Absolute bull shite. I have a kid in college today. I am well aware where all the scholarships are going. It's been a real eye opener. Go tell your fantasy to someone more gullible.

It takes a very un-used mind to miss how you're being marginalized and isolated.

Don't you think that's an exaggerated estimate? It isn't nearly that high. If it was the gross home income would be much higher for Blacks as a whole.

And he's right, if you were in that same situation AND BLACK you'd have a tougher time.

Lol you think scholarship opportunities = credibility in society. Scholarship work to equalize the playing field in our society.

Scholarship Opportunities are providing an ability to rectify a system in this country which prevented minorities and women from attending college for hundreds of years in this country.

People love to forget the Native Americans who were exiled from their land to wastelands in the dessert. African Americans were were slaves for hundreds of years then suppressed under Jim Crow laws, and women who didn’t even have the right to vote until 100 years ago.

These are generational issues which we still see the consequences of today.

The spin is strong with this one. Scholarships weren't invented in 1964. And not that it's any of your business, but we are of native american ancestry, chief. Just should not have to play that card, and probably not enough to be a shoe in.

What about a white male with physical disabilities? I am still looking for my white privilege.
