Who told you that? I grew up in a working class family, my dad was a truck driver, my mom worked at a fast food restaurant. But they were both there.
I lived in a very poor neighborhood, lots of drug issues, but my parents were both there, loved us kids, and taught us right from wrong.
I failed out of college my first try, but worked a couple of years, went back and have been working for 35 years since.
A lot of the ills of society are the lack of a male presence in a kids life.

Advantage in today's society is economic, not racial.

Years 86-89 had about 4 million births in the US in each of those years. About 16 million overall (if you include 86). The US population is 73% Caucasian. That means a little over 4 million people born during that time period were minorities. Of those 4 million, accounting for Asians, Jews, Black people, Hispanics, etc; it stands to reason that at least half of those born (about 2 million) were at least of middle-class means.

So yea, millions...

Do you really believe income for minorities follows a Gaussian distribution over all of the population?

Also all white privilege says is that being white has an advantage over being black or brown. It’s really not that hard of a concept to understand.

So many people in this thread are picking anecdotal information and missing the statistics.

I don’t remember that distinction ever being made. Why in your argument are you only concerned with “black or brown”? Are all minorities not equal in your views? Do other minorities not deserve equal protection against the evil white privilege? Sounds a bit racist that you’re only concerned with skin tone and not protecting all minorities.

And why is it that you argue being inherently white doesn’t have an advantage over the other minorities? How are Asians able to overcome “white privilege” (if such a thing existed) but other minorities aren’t? So whites are simply picking and choosing who they will have advantages over? Is that how it’s working? When white constructed their world-domination plot they simply said “hey guys, let’s go ahead and have advantages over black and brown people but we don’t want to have advantages over any of the other minorities.”

The statement made by the other gentleman stated that you have a “leg up” if you’re born white. He said absolutely nothing about distinguishing certain tones of color in his statement. Please stop making excuses. White privilege doesn’t exist.

As a white man, I agree with this.
