Then you are a moron.

The definition of a profession is:

1. a paid occupation

What do you think?

That you either made this up, or you should stop getting into fights with people who are smarter than you.

So, let me ask you what these other people do for a living. I would imagine they drive their high dollar SUV to work that their husband pays for.

I know this is not everyone that drives a truck, but in my former career I was in management in transportation and truck drivers are some of the biggest POS humans around. Awful people for the most part.

I’ve ran into plenty of idiots. We probably load and unload 30 trucks a day. Be it trucks from the port or trucks that are about to be loaded and headed out over the road. It’s about a 50-50 split with me. It’s gotten to where most are from eastern Europe or Spanish speaking. I tell you what though we do have some great drivers that work specifically for us. We went through 20-30 to get 10 good ones. I’m 55 years old. I miss the independent drivers. There are not as many of those guys anymore. We treat the drivers with respect, but if they come in acting like jerks we either turn them away and not load them or we wait hours to unload them and 5 minutes before we start to get fined we unload them.

Any man that wakes up early to provide for his family to the best of his ability is a professional. You are a dick for thinking you are better than him.

Yea, you watch a true professional back up a semi in a 15ft wide alley way for 200yds, and only given the amount of room as an F150 w/ a 10ft trailer could fit to start that run.... and hit it on the first try, every time....

Then watch that baw walk out the cab in snake skin boots, snag a small coffee from your break room like he owns the place, and you tell me who the professional is

This is all a true story too... we called him cowboy... no loading dock, no angled approach... dude was a legend at work... 60yo black man, been driving for 40yrs... dont take no shite, just get his arse back on the road

complete aholes who will be jerks on the road just because they’re bigger than everybody else.

Every single F-350 and F-250 in Houston metro. They think just because their vehicle is huge that they can tailgate you 2 feet behind you and drive like maniacs going 35 mph over.

Massive trucks and Dodge Chargers are by far the 2 worst selfish, arrogant drivers. Different races gravitate to both vehicles, but their selfishness on the road is the same.

I was certified as a teacher, but have been driving trucks and/or managing/routing trucks since’95. I would divide things into blue collar or white collar professionals. Truck drivers, plumbers, electricians etc. and then the doctors and lawyers etc.
Truck driving has changed with technology. We are so regulated and monitored now. Big Brother is watching us every second via cameras and GPS tracking. The stereotypical free range truckers days are numbered. For example , it doesn’t matter if there are no cops within 20 miles of us, the all-seeing eye in the sky can see how fast we are going and what the speed limit is. And we WILL be called on it. It ain’t what it used to be, but that’s not all bad.

Edit to add: any idiot can drive a truck forward, backing up takes a professional.

I just spoke with Hunter Biden. Hunter says “white collar” jobs are professional and come with many perks. He says you all will understand what he means that.

If he can use the interstate left lane and pass another truck in under 30 seconds, he is a pro’s pro.

If you get paid you’re a professional, the question is then white collar or blue collar, and the world needs both.

My cousin Big Marlon says he’s a professional because that’s what the truck driving school said.

If he runs his own business, he is but what a silly thing to argue on either side.

If someone does it for a living then it’s a profession. If the person is licensed and certified then they are a professional truck driver. What’s so hard to understand?

You seem like the type of person to also question why people are LSU fans if they didn’t go to school there.

Traditionally, there are only three professions: Doctors, Lawyers, Ministers.

Everyone else has an occupation.
