We're about to see a bunch of Prevost Catholic schools pop up in the US.
I grew up Lutheran (ELCA) but went to a Catholic HS. I still find all of this interesting. I also have a fond connection to Benedict as my son was born hours after he was elected pope. I'd probably be a converted Catholic if it weren't for the two major differences.

Now teams can complain that the refs AND the pope are conspiring against them when they play the Bears

Got to be an unreal feeling walking out on that balcony for the first time as pope with that crowd.

If we stop getting the accidental #Saints with the fleur-di-lis that Francis used to do I'll riot.

So he's a continuation of the liberalization of the catholic church. Bourbon slushies for all!

Lots of people in the Prevost family from South Louisiana. When I heard his name I was really excited for a minute.
Still awesome that he's from Chicago.

Him continuing the synod is a massive red flag. Cannot be understated

You’re telling me the pope doesn’t have control over the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops?
Over the Bishops themselves, yes. Over the Conference (organization)…not in the sense you’re referencing.

Yeh, this guy sounds real liberal
Truth is this guy is a complete outsider. He barely has any known interviews. Anyone claiming they know his stances are just blowing smoke

On LGBTQ issues, The New York Times reported this week that in 2012, a year before the election of Pope Francis, Cardinal Prevost expressed disappointment that some Western media held “sympathy for beliefs and practices that are at odds with the gospel,” in particular, the “homosexual lifestyle” and “alternative families comprised of same-sex partners and their adopted children.”

How many popes have their been for everyone? This is #6 for me. Paul VI to Leo XIV. HUGE fan of JP II. Polar opposite from Woke Francis.

This actually might be an issue even though you will be down voted. Dr Taylor Marshall (I know some people don’t like him) covered two different reports of him not handling a sexual abuse report appropriately.
