This is supposed to be “bad”

Cardinal Prevost says little but some of his positions are known. He is reportedly very close to Francis’ vision regarding the environment, outreach to the poor and migrants, and meeting people where they are. He said last year “the bishop is not supposed to be a little prince sitting in his kingdom.” He supported Pope Francis’ change in pastoral practice to allow divorced and civilly remarried Catholics to receive Holy Communion.

Another case — first reported by The Pillar in 2021 — has also drawn attention amid Prevost’s candidacy. In 2000, Prevost allowed a Chicago archdiocesan priest who sexually abused minors to live in an Augustinian rectory around the corner from a Catholic school — in a residence Cardinal Blase Cupich later said was not appropriate for priests accused of abuse. in September 2000, Fr. James Ray was permitted to live at St. John Stone Friary, a house of the Chicago province of the Augustinian religious order. The friary is half a block from a parish elementary school. According to diocesan records, the move required approval by Prevost, who was then an Augustinian provincial superior.

but hasn't lived or worked here in decades.
I believe he worked in Chicago until the mid 2010s.
He went to Villanova back in the day also.

Prevost appears somewhat less favorable to currying favor with the LGBTQ lobby than Francis, but he showed mild support for Fiducia Supplicant's.1 Well, shite
God forbid the leader of Christianity care about poor people! What would Jesus think?!

Yeah, the pope should be instrumental in helping illegals violate the laws of sovereign nations and completely abandoning the foundational practices of the church he’s leading.

We can't enjoy anything anymore without a slapfight about politics.

You know the Catholic Church got billions of dollars from the US govt to help illegals live in this country, right?

Bruh y’all need to relax on the politics. The pope has no power in a countries policies. If countries are letting in immigrants it was happening already with or without the popes approval.

The OT when the Pope doesn't start his speech with "frick poor people and frick immigrants":

I’m a Protestant, but I hope Pope Leo XIV leads the Catholic Church in a good direction and that it plays its role in making the Christian world stronger. We’re all brothers and sisters in Christ and we need to continue the good work.

It’s almost like he is speaking to a primarily non English speaking audience!
