shite, that’s a lie. National Firearms Act ring a bell?

How about the tenth amendment? That means frickall to the ubiquitous federal government.

Those 2 quotes don’t scare you as an American?

The fact that you’re so angry about others having concerns over losing rights is just mind-blowing. I’ll bet you’re a “conservative” too, right?

Who said it was specific? The fact that it’s so broad is what’s really scary...

I don't think you've read Animal Farm. This is nothing like Animal Farm. Not even a little.

Govt monitoring and intervention will be on steroids. It's going to be worse than the Patriot Act.

The Constitution does not grant rights to citizens. Rather, it guarantees and protects them. All rights of the people are self-evident, endowed by God.

The Constitution grants specific limited rights to the federal government. Unless the Constitution grants a specific right to the federal government, those rights are reserved and preserved for the people and their state and local governments (which are of course limited by the protections of the United States Constitution).

No, but the post I responded to didn’t specify anything about Trump.

If you cannot see how forcing small businesses to close is wrong, or prohibiting gatherings at mass is wrong, I can’t help you

This won’t be over on April 30th, and it likely won’t be over on May 30th. On top of that, we’ ve opened a can of worms as to how low the bar is for forcibly closing things up and putting people out of work.

The government does not care about you or me. They care about power

ETA: Its just like the LGBQT thing. Give an inch, they will take a mile

The whole conversation is about the current situation. For some unknown reason you brought up not being able to buy certain types of weapons. Correct if I'm wrong but the government hasn't taken people's guns away over this.

No he's getting arrested for adding to the outbreak. Going to church is exactly how the plague spread so fast. People can worship at home, all going to church is going to do is get more people killed

You act like it’s unprecedented for the federal government to overstep its boundaries and trample all over our rights guaranteed by the US constitution.

Both Newsom and Cuomo said just yesterday they will have to re-evaluate what the new normal will look like when this is over. And let’s say you’re right and they do give it all back...that’s still ok with you? That they come strip your rights whenever they want as long as they promise to give them back at some point in the future? That’ll be great for business! And why do you trust they won’t keep doing it again and again?

First of all.. What rights have they actually taken away? Yes there have been a lot of things shut down, but you can still go get essentials. You can get in your vehicle and drive wherever you want. It might not be open, but you are not being forced to stay inside your house. There are things you can do without putting yourself or others at risk of catching this virus.

There is a curfew where I am from 9PM - 5AM. When most people are going to be at home anyway, but I really needed to do something I could go do it, the purpose of this is so that people are not just going out and gathering in big groups. Why would the government want to take away people's right to get with their friends and hang out other than to try to stop the spread of a virus?

And saying "we will have to re-evaluate what the new normal will look like when this is over" could be in reference to several things. Maybe he is referring to hospitals and how people are treated.. But there is nothing in that statement that makes me think "this dude is trying to take away our rights".

I know what thing, you are allowing your thoughts to control you and you should free your mind of this crazy stuff. You keep thinking like this and start seeing everything as if the government is trying to take away your rights.. That will get exhausting.

I’d rather have actual thoughts than being brainwashed into a media sheep and believing whatever they tell me is right. Especially when they do the wrong thing more often than not

They haven't even suspended taxes. That should show you how much they care to "do everything" they can.

We the People need to say frick it as a society and open everything up on May 1 regardless of what some elected assholes say.
