WBRZ's Mark Armstrong is Broome's new Chief Communications Officer

"Mark brings many talents and great experience to this critical role, including his knowledge of local media, and I’m excited about him joining our team," Broome said in her announcement Monday. "Communicating with our citizens through various media channels about the many achievements, partnerships and activities taking place in our City-Parish ensures we exhibit transparency and honor our dedication to preserving the trust of our community."
Armstrong, a University of Southern Mississippi graduate, will oversee the mayor's communications strategy as well as those for the various city-parish departments.
Armstrong recently worked as a multi-media reporter for WBRZ-TV and previously worked at WXXV-TV in Gulfport, Miss. as a production assistant, assignment editor and reporter. He'll earn $71,890 a year.

Maybe Broome got confused when she heard he went to Southern.

She can hire all the white faces she wants to sell her re-election bid, but we aren’t buying it.
I think she was elected during a perfect storm of circumstances in her favor. One of those being that a lot of voters thought she was Kip Holden 2.0.

There was no superstorm.
It was just Bodi White running a shitty campaign that completely mailed it in.
He should've hammered it home that he was Baton Rouge's best defense against St. George as it was going to happen under Broome.
I can't remember him putting much effort in that message.
