My wife is having a girls night tonight, which I completely encourage. I will be watching our child who is a toddler. My question is, do any of you drink alcohol while watching your kids by yourself? Are you ever worried about needing to be sober in order to drive in case there is an emergency? Just curious what everyone here thinks.

If you are that much of an alcoholic, you need help.

A drink? Sure
Multiple drinks? No

Also, call your mom and have her come watch the kid

Take shots with the toddler so you're not drinking alone

As long as you have your wits about you it’s ok.

If you drink alone, you're an alcoholic.

If you are watching your kid, you aren't alone.

Therefore, your kid is the reason you're not an alcoholic.

See, a great reason to have kids!

Sounds like a night when I go to my parents watch bowls games with my ol man, while my mom tends to the kids every need

I'm not risking any possible harm to my child on my account just for a few drinks.

If you blackout you won’t remember any harm that comes to the child

You can drink and not get drunk y'know. If you don't know when to stop, just stop and get a help group.

Got my toddler a toy cell and taught him how to dial 911, when I was confident he could do it I just put my phone on the rails of his bed next to the baby monitor, then proceed to get blackout drunk

Did it all the time when my kids were little.

What could possibly go wrong?

I don't because that's child endangerment because of the possibility of

How about being curious what your toddler would think?
