Oddly enough, I brought my 5 yo daughter to see the new Mary Poppins today at Movie Tavern. They had a guy with his son and daughter one row in front of us. He had three beers that had to be at least 20oz. How miserable do you have to be to get buzzed while watching Mary Poppins with your kids.

I got engrossed in a football game one time and let a youngin roll off the bed. Sobriety is no guarantee

I’ve raised kids, don’t need an explanation, just saying that you can alter their schedule, just sort of transition it to compromise, i.e. train the kid(or pet,) don’t let them train you

I know this is off topic, but how so? I can't help he falls asleep.

It sounds like your job situations dictate when your little one sleeps. Nothing wrong with that.

Oh ok. I took it as you thought I was doing something wrong. As everyone else says I am. Oh well.

Nah. When you are both working you take whatever you can get when it comes to bedtime

So you need a passenger for a road beer to not be an alcoholic?

God you teetotalers must be miserable if you have to have someone else present in order to have a damn beer

which I completely encourage.

Well good for you. I hope she didn't have to ask for your permission.

My question is, do any of you drink alcohol while watching your kids by yourself? Are you ever worried about needing to be sober in order to drive in case there is an emergency? Just curious what everyone here thinks.

You should know your limits. If you do not know your limits then do the responsible thing and don't drink. Do you really need people to tell you this?

I'm not risking any possible harm to my child on my account just for a few drinks.

Aren't you just a big snuggie of parenting. Faq

How about being curious what your toddler would think?

I learned early on that you can easily parent while having a couple of drinks. Very surprised you have a toddler and haven't figured that out yet.

The most I have done is had a beer or glass of wine after my daughter has fallen asleep. That’s rare too.
