Cameras are now rolling again on Mission: Impossible 7, and to celebrate, Tom Cruise has driven a motorbike off the edge of a cliff.

We all recall Cruise hanging from a mountain by his fingernails and clinging on to the side of a plane in past movies.

But this giant ramp, built on the edge of the Helsetkopen mountain in Stranda, Norway, is something new and uniquely terrifying, even for those with a head for heights.

Norwegian news site NRK has nabbed actual video footage of Cruise performing the stunt, speeding off the ramp, while a plane and helicopter fly overhead.

As the motorbike hurtles towards the ground, Cruise deploys a parachute to bring him safely to the ground.

It's not. He is infamous for doing his own stunts. Last movie they strapped him to the side of a C-130 and took off.

Don't agree with his personal life choices, but hard to fault his dedication to his craft. His movies are always entertaining, and appears to be a genuinely nice person.

Dude learned to pilot a helicopter for one of the MI movies so they could film the helo doing a roll and keep the camera on his face the whole time. After that, motorbiking and parachuting seems like no big deal.

Dude learned to fly a helicopter in a couple of months so he could do that helicopter chase scene actually flying. To me that was his craziest stunt.

Isn’t it true that he’s never won an Oscar? Seems unfair - will definitely see the one he films in outer space

Mad respect for Tom for doing his own stunts. Hanging off flying planes, rappeling down the Burj Khalifa, jumping from building to building, he's done some pretty hairy stunts for his films.

I always say this in Cruise threads, but he’s pretty unanimously thought of as one of the nicest stars in the industry, does all his own stunts, and his movies are so entertaining.

Weird AF Scientology aside, I like Tom.

Weird AF Scientology aside,

As I’ve said before: I really do wonder if he actually believes all of the craziness of Scientology? He’s treated like old school French renaissance royalty by the church - and that’s at a level even a wealthy movie star wouldn’t attain.

So, is he just acting his part?

He definitely does, he’s in the inner circle.
