Baws, be careful out there. Snakes, especially Copperheads are thriving in the South right now.

Anyone have any interesting experiences with snakes?

I just adopted a pit bull specifically to protect me from copperheads.

Also remember to teach your kids about nature's dangers before setting them loose. This kid got real lucky it was a dry bite

I grew up with a levee right behind our property line. Snakes all the damn time. We kept the shovel on the porch basically year round.

I just saw on The outdoor board that a snake bite costs you $150,000.
Insane

Most health insurance don’t cover for snake bites. You are just SOL when one bites you with venom injected.

No way I'm paying a snake 150 grand for biting me.

If you are hit by a copperhead get someone to suck the venom out

Thanks OP for giving me another thing to be nervous about that I have basically no control over.

Two little boys 3 y/o and 9 months that’s were both blessed with recklessness, curiosity and for the older one disregard of all instructions make them prime candidates to become victims of the elements.

This is why I spend extra money on snake boots that are comfortable to walk in so I’ll default to wearing them.

Don't believe this. You are going to have to provide some back up.

Copperhead bites are common because they rely on camouflage and often don't move or slither away when a person approaches. A lot of people step on them by accident.

Holy shite, that gave me anxiety watching that. The kid even says the saying, but gets it wrong (or at least understands it incorrectly).
