its a fricking Blood pressure med....it isnt addicting. not to mention lisinopril is available in generic.....doctors are not making money off of that drug

the doctor is working under the reasonable assumption that OP will talk a big game but wont do shite. He will do the whole "new year, new me" bullshite for a month or so and then go back to how he was...so doctor is doing what he can to help the situation knowing the patient is not going to listen to him.

so shut the frick up, because that medicine could save his life. it might not, but i promise ole fricking BABYTAC doesnt know shite based off 1 post.

OP if you are serious about making a change....then make it.

I was prescribed BP meds many years ago. You don't have to stick with whatever the doc gives you - monitor your side-effects and whether it even drops your BP. I tried several, including lisinopril, and some had no effect at all, some lowered BP but I felt lethargic, and some had other symptoms. Finally settled on one that had minimal sides but dropped my BP. Doesn't matter which one because YMMV.

Then I got off of them completely.

I started w/ hypertension meds when I had a job that had me traveling ~80%. I wasn't overweight but I was eating very poorly and I stopped exercising for the first time in my life. Several years later I changed jobs, got back to a good exercise program and cleaned up my diet. I stopped my BP meds and my BP has remained stable ever since.

Whether you can skip the meds by jumping immediately into exercise depends on how severe your hypertension is. I was like 170/110, so there was no question I needed to get it under control until I could do it by other means.

And recommendations for alternatives to BP meds?

I work in the Medicare space, I would say 60% of my client base is on Lisinopril

I haven't heard any issues.

to an extent I am too but i dont want to see someone die before they really come to grips with situation.

im not really having defeatist attitude just telling babytac he is a stupid frick and what the doctor is thinking

op could get BP undercontrol without the meds simply using carditone, high dosed Nattokinase and then diet, lifting weights and walking.

but he prolly wont and the doctor assumes that

oh and babytac is still the dumbest mother fricker on this board on pretty much every subject. but especially money and health

I’ve been on 20mg for years. About 15

Zero problems and my BP has been perfect.

I weigh 180 with a playing weight of 215.

No issues.

I've taking it for years without any problems except for having headaches, stomach cramps. rectal bleeding, heart palpitations, muscle aches, dizziness, blurred vision and insomnia.

Hope this helps...

If you stop polishing the bishop 4x per day, all that goes away.

Watch your potassium on that

I take 30mg tab daily. Improved my BP and I have had zero issues on it. Was taking 10mg to start but it did nothing. 30mg seems to be the answer for my BP.

Common side effect is a slight cough,

Lisinopril has side effects. They all do when you read. Slight cough that is a tickle in the throat is worrisome for later angio-edema. That’s its main problem side effect. Lips or tongue tingling will become swelling one day. If you’re crazy enough to ignore it it will become full on fish lips. At its worst it’s fatal.

Imagine being so grossly uneducated as to believe only overweight people take these types of medications. Mingo being his typical poor and retarded self whenever given the chance on TD.com

Imagine being so grossly uneducated that you can’t read.

And by the way, you are fat, no matter how many times you want to deny it because you played football 40 years ago

First bl med prescription... I'd prefer to try a diet and exercise program first, but doc gave the prescription to get it moving. I'm getting my fat arse in the gym asap.

Google seems to show allot of people having issues with it, but I realize that folks not having issues will most likely not be online talking about it.

And recommendations for alternatives to BP meds?

Also avoid drinking calories that is the killer. Zero calorie crap is cool here and there but your body will react to it as if you've actually taken in sugar for most people. This will make you crave junk. Stick to water, tea, coffee. Milk is cool try to find raw milk if you can.
