Well considering LSU will be butt fricked by Alabama, again, in another boring arse game, I think if anything they're smart to have a wedding that day IMHO.

If there was only someway to watch the game without a TV. Like with some sort of device that fits in the palm of your hand and also some small speakers that fit in your ear so you can hear the game as well. I wonder if that technology has been invented yet??

I'm going to a wedding in NY this weekend. Had to tell the lady friend that even though "I'll be in the greatest city in the world" ( 
), I have to go to some Bama bar to watch the game, no negotiation.

OP. You're right. Alumni from schools like LSU(and many others with a very passionate fanbase) should know better than to get married during the biggest conference game of the season.
Same could be said about a couple from Green Bay getting married on a Sunday of a Home game at Lambeau.
Or small town Mississippi couple getting married on Deer Season Opening day.
Knowing your audience/guests is important. The OP's couple in question really sucks if they don't plan to have the game on at the reception.
Hell there's a fundraiser for city judge candidate's campaign this Saturday night and the flyer has front and center "LSU v BAMA ON THE BIG SCREEN". So even a candidate for judge has to be mindful of a big event like LSU Football.

This seems important to some people, I rather them send a gift and not show up. You save money on headcount and still get what you really want, free stuff from people you don't want at your wedding in the first place.

Yeps. Depends on the couple obviously. If it's a friend and a home game(we're season tix holders), I'm not going to the wedding.
But If I'm in the wedding and it's family or something, I'd have to go. But I'd just cuss the frick out of them behind their backs and say "It's fine. really" to their faces. Then two years later when they divorce, I'd lay into them about what a fricking stupid planning job they did.

Guy I know from Alabama went to a wedding few years ago that was during the LSU Bama game. They had a TV on, but he said the bride flipped out bc everyone was watching the game instead of dancing and what not.
Unless it's a shotgun wedding, why not get married in the spring when people aren't tied to things like football games or hunting?

Your hunting and football could be someone else's baseball and some other time sensitive activity.
There is really no good time for a wedding for everyone in your family, get married when you want to get married. Your real friends and family will show up, even if they aren't happy about the schedule. The people throwing a fit about this probably aren't very well liked or wanted at these weddings anyway. Just check the not attending box and send them some cash.
