here's something that i must get off my chest
I DON'T GIVE TWO SHITS WHAT THIS GUY KILLED.
FWIW if the government allowed him to buy tags to hunt another person willingly, then god speed sir.
More people care about a lion, a fricking animal, getting killed thousands of miles and an ocean away instead of issues in their own back yards.

Am I the only one that could not care less about some lion in Africa? Kill all those frickers for all I care - the elephants too. Of all the things to take a stance over, the reaction to a dead lion is mind-boggling. It is not a human and it would kill and eat you in a heartbeat if it had the chance.

You actually called his office? You don't have much to do, do you?

All the murders in the USA and people are up in arms about a lion and an elephant. Sheltered world some live in.

In all of this, has it been confirmed that he actually went out knowing the situation?
That he knew the "value" of that particular lion and targeted him? Or just assumed his guides got all the proper permitting and were in the right location....you know, what folks typically assume on high dollar guided safaris? "I give you the money, you take care of all the details."
Or has that possibility been ignored entirely, just like the OP tried to cover up the fact that the request to try to get an elephant isn't illegal or uncommon in that country if you purchase the proper permits with some talk about what Obama was "trying" to do.

Big trophy game hunts do more to protect those species than anything you, or peta, or some other bleeding heart dumbass nerds would/could do.
That's a fact kid.

justified. frick that dude. He deserves everything he gets
Yeah, frick hunters in these countries that pay huge money to kill animals. frick the fact that if it wasnt for these hunters paying huge sums of money a ton of animals would be extinct or on the endangered species list still

He broke serious laws in Zimbabwe. He should be extradited and tried there for his crimes.

Wiki page states the lion was born around 2002 which would have made it 12-13 when killed.
The average life span for an African lion in the wild is about 10-14 years... this stupid fricking lion was probably going to be dead soon anyway.

Damn... I didn't know that dentists made that much. Going on these ridiculous hunts and owning a $1+ million vacation house in florida... this guy's balling.

It is not a troll I feel very passionately about this - my mate Ricky Gervais and I mean to do something about it

Man if christian would have eaten those two dudes on the reunite that would have been pretty funny.
you know...except for the heartache it caused the family and all that jazz.
kinda like how that dude lived with bears then they ate him.

The shooting is also being investigated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to see if it was part of a conspiracy to violate U.S. laws against illegal wildlife trading, a source close to the case told Reuters on Thursday.
Despite the global media coverage of Cecil's killing, the big cat's untimely demise has gone largely unnoticed in Zimbabwe, where average annual income is just over $1,000 and unemployment is higher than 80 percent.
