he's not the one that shite on the economy. you can thank the democrats and their corona virus for that. you can also thank them for the riots, looting, burning down stores and killing people on the streets.

They have made so much money from covid they can afford to do it.

Oh, and Thanksgiving is for family time, which is obviously racist.

They cannot have been doing it more than 10 years or so.

That is not a "tradition".

People will just buy what they want some other time. Good for their employees, unless they got paid double and prefer the money.

"Black" Friday term

I'm really surprised that it lasted this long.

I am too. I'll be honest, I let a couple of my team say it first before I started saying Black Friday a couple of years ago. Wanted to make sure it was at common place as I thought it was.

You never know in a corporate environment and well, it looks like I won't be in that environment this year so I guess this problem is taking care of itself in a number of ways.

Good. The employees deserve to have a holiday with their families. I used to hate working on Thanksgiving when I worked in the catering industry.

It sickens me that anything with the word black innit must be danced around like it’s the plague. The term refers to people finally making money. It’s a good thing. Corporations and their HR departments are out of control.

WalMart is ramping up their competition with Amazon. They will move “door buster” sales online to drive traffic.

The huge advantage walmart has on Amazon is their brick and motor. They make more money selling in person than online.

walmart looking for a way to get out of this gracefully; this is nothing but a disaster for them every year w/ the stampedes and violence.

covid gives them cover to discontinue this practice without someone screaming RACISTS!

Yep plus they no longer have to pay OT/holiday rates for that day. Instead they will shift the massive crowds to friday where they don't have to pay the higher rate.

Why would China cut the throat of the beast that feeds it's machine? It makes no sense.

The tradition of them opening thanksgiving “early” for this is only a few years old

When I went to the Citadel, the definition of "tradition" was anything we'd done more than twice.

"But that's an old corps tradition!"

Good. People need to sit back, relax, and be THANKFUL on Thanksgiving weekend. But one must wonder, is it racist to cancel black Friday ?
