Those Walmart delivery drivers will be doing more work than any of those restaurant workers by having to haul 5 cases of diet coke up 2 flights of stairs for your fat arse.
This and the occasional 3X 40 packs of water. I'm semi retired and do a little Spark along with some other freelance, contract work. Tips are what pay us. We get very little of the fee they charge for the services.

At first I thought Wal-Mart employees shopped the items and these third party people just delivered them, but I have come to understand that is absolutely not the case. These people are shopping the groceries
We do both. We make a bit more when we shop and deliver. But we also pick up and deliver. Spark does anyway. They use3d to use door dash for these services but wal mart got wise and created their own shop/pick up and deliver service, thats what Spark is.

To reiterate, my complaint is with the marketing of the service. Nowhere in the description does it talk about contract drivers or tipping. I dont think that would be assumed.
And clealy there is a market of people like me who don't like that idea because they offer another service for $40 more that eliminates that.
Thats well worth it to me to avoid driving and going into the store.
I love the "you don't tip" comments. I have never not tipped at a dine in restaurant. I usually do 20 percent or more based on the service. Never less than 15 and thst wasike 2-3 times in 10 years and we eat out at least once a week.

So you just assumed that some poor SOB was going to shop for your groceries and bring it to you unlimited times a month for a pissy $12?
You're either very stupid or very fricking entitled

I had a relative that did the Walmart thing to pay for his kid’s school. They are all contractors. Seems reasonable to tip for a service like that.
I did have a donut counter person give me some donuts the other day and asked me to check the screen for the tip first - I’m like, that’s not providing a service - that’s your job.

Is t really that difficult to simply not give a tip if you don’t want to? What a stupid rant.

I thought the service was more like prime based in their marketing.
Y'all do realize that "tipping" is based on food servers being paid $2.13/hour, right? It has now morphed into tipping people making $15/hour. There is no way I'm tipping a percentage on goods I've bought from a retailer! I assume the delivery fee is priced into the price I paid for the goods. Now companies like Walmart want me to subsidize their delivery people? No thanks! I'll buy elsewhere.

So you don't tip delivery drivers? They're the ones that should be tipped. Have you seen the way people drive? They practically risk their lives to bring you your cream soda and pringles.

Agree... I don't have to tip my Amazon guy.

What a strange thing to be mad about. I would say if anyone deserves a few bucks tip its someone who loads all your crap up and delivers it to you so you don't have to

Spark driver here. It's pretty simple, we can tell who tips and who don't. Like it was stated above, you are basically bidding for me.

There are two streams to Wal Mart grocery delivery depending upon the area in which you live.
Wal mart employees pick and deliver your groceries.
3rd party picks and delivers your groceries.
Both groups are working hard.

Express delivery with Walmart+ is great. Husband was out of town and I got sick. Had teenage girl supplies, meds and groceries on the doorstep in about 1 hour in terrible traffic. I think there is a max 35 items, but I was glad to tip for the speedy service. Driver updated via text when the bags were dropped and was super courteous. Worth it!!

Sorry- a lot of the posts on the next door app in our town are people saying the wrong walmart order was left on their doorstep.

That's the right move if you don't want to tip a driver.

First, frick this country's stupid tipping culture. Signed up for Walmart plus. Thought I'd give it a try.
First order I see that there's a tip option. Wtf? Then I start digging into it and see that third party drivers are going to deliver your groceries? frick that.
I don't door dash or Uber eats or any of that bullshite. I'm not tipping when I'm paying for a subscription. I'm also not going to not tip and trust some lackey with my groceries.
Back to just going with Amazon prime and Costco. I'll pick my stuff up myself.
And before the "you're cheap" comments rain down. I do tip at least 20 percent or more for good dine in service at restaurants. But I am very anti tipping for take out or counter service.
shite is ridiculous especially when food is so outrageous now.
We use it pretty much once a week for our major grocery shopping and I wouldn't care if they added 20% to the bill if it meant I could stay the frick out a WalMart in particular or any grocery store in general. I wouldn't do it though if buying groceries was a major portion of our income...I'd bit the bullet and wade through that dismal mass of humanity like most folks do.
There is also the $.10 a gallon discount at the Murphy Station that comes with the subscription. They usually have the lowest gas prices in our area and they are quick and there ain't a lot of shite to waste money on....plus a $.10 a gallon discount...

I suspect they hate us...we have a 50 pound sack of dog food and at least a case of water bottles at least once a month. I love my dog but I hate toting that sack of dog food to the backyard LOL.
