I’m sure we will hear more of the story later, especially when any lawsuits resolve, but the theory floated is that the assistant principal had the victim targeted because she was a rival of her own daughter.

It’s walker high. As long as she isn’t on meth by 12, she’s ahead of the avg

If the trigger was jealous targeting, Becnel needs to be thrown under the bus.

She needs to go regardless if she was in on shaming this girl for behavior at an off campus non school event while there is footage of her doing tik tok dances to sexually explicit songs on campus.

Are Louisiana educators not part of a union? If so, I suspect there would be a process to go through to get to termination that would take more than a weekend.

*slow clap*

I bet yesterday’s post where he got caught lying by the victim’s mother was the last straw.

Any good lawyer would have gagged him and made any statement come through them. Him opening his mouth basically conceded any suit.

No, not all.

For the districts that are unionized, it’s mainly non-management staff teachers.

Rank and file are part of a union.

I’m less sure if administrators, but him doing something stupid like this could be grounds for an unpaid suspension pending resolution, which is constructively the same as a firing.

Louisiana unions are voluntary. As such, their power in these situations is limited compared to some other states. Also- he isn’t a teacher- he is the principal. Management isn’t protected by unions like employees are.

That's why I wondered if he just went and did that on his own or if the school board approved that communication. Usually you don't allow someone under investigation to send out a release like that while the investigation is still going on.

My assumption is that he did it on his own because he is arrogant enough to think that he can fix matters by bullshitting. Because it has likely worked to this point for him.

Releasing that statement on an official Facebook is probably grounds for firing.

I guess the investigation will get Becnel.

I read his statement. It seemed sincere. Of course not being involved in the situation that is easy for me to say. He apparently had a chance to get the mom & daughter in earlier before it completely blew up and went viral. So I get it now, it's about getting her reputation back. No need to go elbow deep on the principal because he's likely done anyway. I am sure that since its out in the public, the senator will likely have her added back to the list for the scholarship.

What did he say?

Good afternoon WHS Family,
I believe it is necessary to respond to the public attention that has resulted from my actions regarding Kaylee Timonet’s participation in a dance party that was sponsored at an off-site location following WHS Homecoming.
I have had time to consider my actions, have conversations with the Timonets, and meet with district staff.
First, let me say that I have apologized to the Timonets and I am hopeful that my scheduled meeting with Kaylee’s mom will rectify this situation and allow Kaylee to enjoy the remainder of her senior year at Walker High School.
I will be reinstating Kaylee’s position on the Student Government Association. The SGA was created to give students a voice in their school and their community, to promote leadership qualities, and to represent their school with pride, enthusiasm, and respect. Our student government members are held to a high standard of student behavior. While I stand by that premise, I do believe that standard deserves the input of not just myself and top administrators, but also those student leaders. I hope to create a path moving forward where we can work together to create clear expectations for all.
I will be reinstating my scholarship endorsement for Kaylee. At Walker High, we strive to place our students first in every decision so they may be prepared for whatever career path they may aspire to take, and I believe my action will assist in doing that.
Finally, during my conversation with Kaylee regarding the dance party, the subject of religious beliefs was broached by Kaylee and myself. While that conversation was meant with the best intentions, I do understand it is not my responsibility to determine what students’ or others’ religious beliefs may be – that should be the responsibility of the individual
As principal of Walker High School, I am faced daily with many difficult decisions for the interest of our students and employees that are never taken lightly. Please know that I always strive to place our students first in every decision. It is for that reason that I have taken this corrective action.
As we move forward, I ask for your continued support of Walker High School, our amazing teachers, and outstanding students.
Thank you,
Jason St. Pierre, Principal
Walker High School

So that's what I was getting at. I get the mom and daughter are pissed, they are embarrassed. Rightfully so. But at this point, going elbow deep on the guy for his actions, now, is a moot point. He's out anyway. They girl has gotten all the things returned to her that she lost. Everyone involved needs to move on.

Or an example needs to be made of this moron so people in similar positions of power think twice before doings hit like this agian. This goes beyond this one incident.
