Since when did Livingston Parish set the bar for what’s moral and what’s not?

s she in trouble for how she was dancing or because she was dancing on a girl?

She failed to live up to the ideals of a “Walker HS car hood ornament” in the eyes of the principal, who happens to live a life above reproach.

This girl did absolutely nothing wrong and has nothing to be ashamed of. By all accounts, she is the epitome of a great student, daughter and caring friend.

I have yet to read ONE disparaging remark about her character on SM, which usually isnt hard to find when dealing with jealous female teens. Not even anonymous comments.

In fact, the only character assaults ive read are against the principal and asst principal.

Id imagine St Pierre is sitting at home wishing he could put this all back in the bottle.

Everything about this motherfricker screams that his next gig will be to run one of those "prom songs for Jesus" churches where they subject you to Christian rock for an hour, but they at least have a coffee shop.

I love the people in here slut shaming a 17 year old girl for dancing next to another girl twerking at an off campus party supervised by parents. And, as a mom, there would be some strong side eye and the principal making my daughter watch the video while she cried alone in his office with him. Yes, those same high moral posters don’t shame this grown arse professional for that.

I think some of these people forgot what it was like being a teenager. By all accounts she seems to be a good student, but shame on her for dancing.

Everyone is saying she was "twerking", but I will take your word for it that she was dancing next to another girl twerking. I think its funny that twerking has become mainstream over the past what? 10 or so years? Its been in new orleans bounce music since the early 90s, but that's besides the point.

What if, for some reason, at a HS party the song 'Strokin' comes on an all the girls get on the dance floor to do the line dance associated with the song. When you factor in the lyrics is it any less appropriate than someone "twerking". The fact that people can't see its all done in good nature and having fun with it, blows my mind.

And the fact that he (the principal) felt like it was his job to address this. I hope that horse he is on isn't too high because its not uncommon for people who feel the need to shame people based on their religious beliefs, to do so in order to overcompensate for something going on in their life.

How nice of the principal to post here.

As I was reading all his BS I was thinking this has to be someone connected to the principal or LP school board.

When the assistant principal in the room berating her, whose daughter was also at the party, has been in publicly posted videos doing TikTok dances and singing very filthy lyrics taken IN HER OFFICE, it is certainly a “glass houses” situation.

My step-son's cousin goes to that school and he heard that the assistant principal was mad at the girl because she kissed a boy the A.P. was banging.

Not really, but it seems plausible for some trashy South Louisiana High School, where everyone suddenly gets interested in education after they hear about 17-year olds twerking on video.

This principal days of being employed in todays public school system will probably come to an end.

He might be able to find work at a private church school.

Eventually this will get too big for the school board to not step in and clean this up by terminating him.

It’s Livingston Parish.

Just because people move in from elsewhere doesn’t mean there aren’t some serious trailer trash heavily entrenched there.

This.

The other assistant principal in the room had a daughter who was at the after-party and supposedly forwarded the video to mom.

The “why” of this happening to the girl aren’t clear but small town politics in which mommy hurts someone she doesn’t like or who feels is challenging her daughter sure seems like it is in play.

I agree the principal went too far.

At this point the school board needs to put this fire out. Terminate the principal and anyone else involved. Work with the parents of this young lady to sweep this under the rug in a settlement.

Then let out a press release that the school system fired the administrators involved, they are putting new rules in place to stop future incidents like this, and settled with the parents of the young lady. They wish her a very successful future and apologize for any wrong doings. Goal to put this fire out.

Right now they are allowing a fire to get bigger and bigger which will cost them more headaches, federal government stepping in to monitor the schools, and lawsuits.

No. He runs the PUBLIC school that she attends. He is responsible for her education. That's it. This is not a private or religious school. He has no right or access to anything beyond her education.

Don't necessarily agree with this. When I was being a dumbass in my public HS, my principal and coaches had several "mentorship" sessions with me that had nothing to do with education, but rather about how to navigate life. And I appreciate the hell out of them for it.

His taking punitive actions against her, beyond just advice and mentorship, is where he went wrong.

Did their “mentorship” involve rescinding endorsements for scholarships that were already supposed to be sent off?

“Counseling” is acceptable. fricking around with someone’s scholarship opportunities through action or inaction, less so.

This one doesn’t sit well with me because the counselor at my old school was required to handle all correspondence for people’s scholarships and he dropped the ball on one or more people’s scholarship opportunities by missing deadlines.

Even if one thought his “counseling” actions were appropriate, rescinding a recommendation and refusing to submit them for a scholarship on the day it was due is a shitty thing to do and is why he is getting dragged for it.

He didn't attempt to teach or mentor. He succeeded in humiliation and being the opposite of a leader in the community.
