Agreed - I usually round up regardless of tip to a flat dollar amount with zero cents. Heck I usually just tip 20%

Always round up or down to make it an even dollar amount. Write that amonut on my copy. Also always get the receipts from gas station, etc. Gove them to my wife. No clue if she checks them or not.

That's interesting. In Florida, Police can only make a PC arrest for a misdemeanor that was committed in the officer's presence.
It's ridiculous to arrest someone over $10.

This is a reason I always make sure to fill out the tip lines, especially at counter service places with them.
I tip well though so I have never had this problem.

I had the same waitress at a restaurant in ATL departing one Monday as I did that Thursday coming back through. She changed the tip by $2 both times.
I wonder how many hundreds of times she got away with people not noticing or caring about $2 until she did it to the same person twice in one week.

I was thinking that too. Especially for lunches. They usually pre-auth the pre-tip amount and then clear with the tipped amount later. I don't really pay much attention to the smaller charges.

I always tip cash and write "cash" in the tip line.
The wait staff usually prefers it and it helps me keep track of my card balances easier.

She didn't get arrested over $10. She was arrested for committing credit card fraud. They take that shite seriously.
She'd have been better off just stealing the $10 out of the till.

They should be arrested over $0.01, a pos thief is a POS theif. I highly doubt she was arrested over this one instance, most likely this was the only complaint.
