Wait until bartender is looking to tip at a cash bar?

Why bother if you only tip 1 dollar. Give them a 10 on your first drink and you'll get the best service all evening.

Tipping without the server knowing that you did it is like sending sending a girl a gift as a "secret admirer." The whole point is that they know its you.
Give the tip to the bartender the first time. When they point out the tip jar, put it in the jar afterward as they hand you your change.

Amateur! You always tip with loose change so they can hear the tip going into the tip jar. I make quite a ruckus when I slap those coins down.

It's not about validation here. It's about them knowing you are tipping so they come back to you faster and take care of you better.
But if I'm just going to the bar for a drink or two, and it's not that crowded, I DGAF if they see me tip or not.
