I don't drink at places that have tip jars.
Most of the time I'm running a tab anyway and tip with a credit card.

Why would you tip a bartender? You're already overpaying for the drink, your responsibility is over after that.

Why the animosity? I'll bet your the type that tips the librarian in hopes of making a friend. You pay for the drink, no need to tax yourself to get people to like you.

As a bartender I guartentee they see pretty much every tip given and know it happened even if they aren't looking at you when you give it.

Eyes are all seeing.

I give a 20 on first round when entertaining customers. Usually get better service and is a better night for all. By myself for a drink or two, don't really care

or give an amount and don't get change

This is usually what I do.

I'll buy a drink and tell the bartender to keep the rest.

Depending on how much I'm drinking/spending I'll either do this every time or every other time.

I just shake the jar when they aren't looking to make it sound like I tipped.

Exactly. OT Ballers either tip 1% or don't tip at all (see haircut threads).

Too bad ensure would be the correct firm to use in that context
You pay Insurance up front. That's why Ensure is not applicable in the usage.
