Prayers for both families involved and for the Auburn family
This times infinity. While we are all heartbroken for the Bramblett children and the Auburn family, the 16-year-old needs our prayers too.
He may have been at fault, but he's just a kid, and his life will be forever scarred from this accident.

Even at that lower speed, it was jarring(I didn't contact a trashy PI attorney). Getting rear ended with no brakes applied can easily kill when shearing forces are applied to the cervical vertebrae.
Not to sound like an arse, but how does rear-ending a vehicle kill two people in a modern vehicle?

Not sure how the Highlander headrests are, but if you don't have these high enough and up against the back of your head, a rear end collision could do just this.

Man, that is just terrible...prayers to the families of all involved.

That kid had to be hauling arse.

On that section of Shug Jordan Pkwy., it’s not uncommon for vehicles to travel 60-70 mph.

There needs to be some kind of text deactivation technology parents can install on kids’ phones that disables the messaging app while driving.

What direction were they heading when the wreck occurred? since the wreck happened late in the day, could the sun have been in his eyes obstructing his view?

My brother in law died sitting at a stop light. Drunk driving rear ended him going approximately 80mph.

Already exists.

My little brother got rear ended sitting at a red light by someone going about 50. Said hes not sure how it didnt break his neck. Being pushed into the car in front of him is probably what saved his arse, gave him a dampener and kept his truck from flying off the road.

Like I mentioned earlier, it has a LOT to do with the position of your headrest. Technically, it's not a head"rest", it's a head restraint. Watch crash test dummy accidents and how the heads snap when hit from behind.
This is a good opportunity to tell all of you to check your own head restraints in your own vehicles, both driver and passenger. Most people keep them too low and too far back. To work well, the top of the restraint should reach at least as high as the top of your ears and be relatively close — 3 inches or less—to the back of your head.

My moms neck is so jacked that her dr said if she got into a car accident that the whiplash could snap her neck. Not necessarily a high speed accident either.

Excessive speed

Not if it's done at a hospital, they can get immediate results

Excessive speed
I just watched a video of a woman getting hit at 6 MPH and her head was tossed around. I don't know what the speed limit is on the road they were travelling last night, but it might not take something like 80 mph to kill people.

I don’t know what direction they were going, but that direction of Shug Jordan goes north/south.
I’ll find out more about it when I go back to work on Tuesday.
