Voddie was huge during the Passion movement of the late 90’s/ Early 2000’s.
One of, if not THE greatest sermons I ever heard was from him at one of those events or at 7:22 back then.
I lost my way. Glad he didn’t.
RIP Voddie. A good, good man.

Random thought. He was a BJJ practitioner. I wonder if he had a stroke.

Awful news. Voddie was one of the good guys, one of my favorite protestant pastors.
I highly encourage anyone interested to read his book, "It's Not Like Being Black: How Sexual Activists Hijacked the Civil Rights Movement," if you want a good read and a profound look at how the actual civil rights movement was highjacked.

There is also a purported controversy about a GoFundMe launched to cover Baucham's medical expenses, The Roys Report – a Christian investigative reporting outlet – noted. As per the report, Baucham's operation, for which the GoFundMe was launched, would have cost a cash patient ‘no more than $300,000.’ However, the 2021 campaign reportedly raised $1.4 million for Baucham, with The Roys Report questioning what happened to the rest of the $1.1 million.

I don't know how much Baucham had, but there is no evidence he lived extravagantly in any case.
I also don't pay much attention to Julie Roys and the rest of the Christian grievance-seeking industry, which is 99% about secular/political/culture grievances and 1% about Christianity.

This is generally very good advice.

Somehow my parents bought into his crap and took away my Harry Potter books because of “Magic and wizards”, as if I didn’t grow up watching all sort of Disney with magic and wizards.
Sorry that your parents loved you and didn’t want you to grow up to be a little gay nerd

He and Paul Washer were instrumental in transforming my faith into something real, away from the shallow and heretical teachings of many mainstream American evangelicals.

I'd argue that within Reformed Christianity he might have been the most forceful little o-orthodox major leader that garnered very close to universal respect among all factions. I often sought out his views or sermons on something contentious as a benchmark.
I'm reformed and well acquainted with Voddie. At times I'd love what he said, but he has a very hard time staying out of the moralism/ultra-Puritanism pit. Moralism is the enemy of the Gospel. I wish he didn't struggle with it but he did.
It's the difference between our head theology and heart theology. Head theology meaning what we know is true. Heart theology just comes out of us in how we actually live our lives. If you're around or listen to someone enough, they can't hide their heart theology.
Voddie was a believer and a worker for Christ. I just made a decision to stop listening to him in recent years.

Voddie was/is a great man of God. I disagree with him vehemently about predestination and the nature of salvation, but there's no doubt he was a man of great faith and a valiant warrior for the cross.

Gosh, I hope you were able to make a full recovery from such trauma.

Our loss. I loved listening to him and Douglas Wilson on podcasts. RIP, Reverend Baucham.

No trauma, just thought, and still think the guy had retarded logic. Best part was having my parents admit how stupid it was later in life.
