quote:

For more than half a century, Saudi Arabia’s oil minister could move markets with a few choice words about what OPEC may decide at its next meeting, generating millions if not billions of dollars of profit for insiders. Not anymore. While OPEC’s gatherings still influence prices, it’s not Saudi Arabia’s voice that matters most, but the voice of a non-member: Russia, specifically Vladimir Putin.
quote:

Since engineering Russia’s pact with the Organization for Petroleum Exporting Countries to curb supplies a year ago, Putin has emerged as the group’s most influential player. As one senior OPEC official put it on condition of anonymity, the Russian leader is now “calling all the shots.” The Kremlin’s growing sway within the cartel reflects a foreign policy that’s designed to counter U.S. influence across the globe through a wide mix of economic, diplomatic, military and intelligence measures. That strategy, which is undergirded by Russia’s vast natural-resource wealth, appears to be working. “Putin is now the world’s energy czar,” said Helima Croft, a former Central Intelligence Agency analyst who directs global commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets LLC in New York.

Putin may be a dictator/harsh leader or whatever, but that MF'er is a leader. He goes in and gets his way with everything. I'm not endorsing the guy, but real recognize real.

Fake news, Russia and the US are pals now, Putin is a good guy, not ex KGB or anything like that.

Isn't that what Obama said during the 2012 Presidential debate in his response to Romney?

Pretty much but that narrative changed after Russia brainwashed all of those people that didn’t vote for Hillary.

In 10 years or less European countries will be begging Russia to help them get rid of the terrorists in their countries and for oil/natural gas. He played both Dems and Reps and has them fighting themselves while he puts the the world in check.

No one is going to admit they’re wrong. Russia and Putin are good, end of story. This is fake news.

That's typically the way things work with dictators.

Not sure what that has to do with the rest of the world. The dude pushes the US and Europe around, but if they cut off his trade supplies his people would all die by Spring. Russia is a wasteland other than the oil under it's dirt. I understand that's the number one resource, but the rest of the land is incapable of producing anything else yet he still finds a way to get what he wants from the Middle East to Europe to the US.

Again, I'm not endorsing the guy, but if you think about it the guy has one chess piece and uses it to perfection.
