can't find it this second, but check this site it. It has a chart that shows what vitamins most Americans lack.

Mine was 92 pg/ml; which is considered high; the last time my dermatologist tested it. She was not concerned nor was my primary care doctor. I spend a fair amount of my workday outside and almost all day every weekend is spent outdoors. I also megadose vitamin D and niacin for my skin, cholesterol, and heart health.

No need to start taking supplements. Just take off your top and walk around your block at high noon for about 1 hour a day. You shouldn’t go topless for longer than an hour a day or you may risk getting skin cancer.

Considering I spend a lot of time in the sun, my vitamin D levels were low, I take supplements for it every day.

I had to take rx Vitamin D before. It's nothing really- just a pill you take once a week with no side effects or anything

My PCP gave me a script for 4 total D2 pills, 1/week, with no test for current levels after a recent hospitalization for uncontrollable vomiting (hospitalized with low levels of everything tested since hours of nonstop vomiting depletes everything).

The day I took the first dose was another hospitalization for nonstop vomiting too. Was already sick before taking it and the other doses taken have been fine so don’t really suspect that triggered me.

Will see PCP again next week for another post hospitalization follow up. December I am scheduled for more extensive tests including annual A1C. I am so sickly even routine visits while feeling good they only tell me vaccinations are available, they never advise me to take them. The pneumonia vaccine hospitalized me when I took it a couple years ago.

You should really only supplement VitD in the winter months in the South. 30 mins or so of direct sunlight is enough for most people.

It’s been argued that cold and flu season could be renamed to VitD deficiency season as it occurs in Winter when sunlight is limited. VitD is a critical component of your body’s defense against respiratory illnesses.
