Video shows girl, 16, apparently kidnapped off NYC street in front of mom, police say

The girl, Karol Sanchez, was with her 36-year-old mom walking on a sidewalk in the Bronx about a mile east of Yankee Stadium at 11:20 p.m. when a beige-colored four-door sedan pulled up, police said.
"Two unknown males exited the vehicle, grabbed the 16-year-old female, and dragged her inside the vehicle while pushing the victim's mother to the ground," according to an NYPD statement.

I just read an article that said that 0.1% of reported missing people are the result of an abduction by a stranger (most are the result of runaways).
If this is truly a "stranger" abduction, it is both incredibly rare and scary.

Meh, that's not that bad. I would not have done it at all. But at that age she's a couple of years out of high school, and a few months away from buying a beer. Not like she was a 16 year old mom.

Is it that rough around Yankee Stadium? I went to the old stadium back in the 1990's and the neighborhood was bad but I didn't feel unsafe.

5-5 150 pounds .... so it's not like she is a stunning beauty someone might want for a sex slave.
There is something more to this story.
This is horrible, I cannot imagine because we just don't see things like snatch and grabs down here like they do in third world countries and now, apparently, in NYC.
Not sure Mom could have done anything even if she was armed unless she was trained really well .... body guard level training.
But there is something more to this.
That girl was snatched as collateral for something or someone, or as payback for something.
Just saying, there is waaaaay more to this story that might eventually come out unless it is covered up for some reason.
She is evidently latino. That's the first hint that this might be cartel drug related. This is the sort of callousness to be expected from them. Find out what Dad does for a living, who he is connected-to.
This girl is being held as some sort of insurance policy or either she's been taken to make an example out of. They are big into this kind of payback .... The Cartels.
There is something more to this story.
