you can't point a gun at law enforcement. how's that for an observation?

That was either serving a high risk warrant for something serious or that guy did something pretty bad not too long before they went after him

SWAT officers had been conducting surveillance on Galarza, regarding active felony arrest warrants stemming from a home invasion and bank robbery just before the shooting.
News story

Police officer comes in your yard, sees you dog, shoots it.
You point a weapon at their dog they shoot you.
Weird world we live in.

Galarza then pointed his gun at officers before they fired at him.
Not so weird if you can read.

Hot take...
Do you work in journalism, that's some serious spin there.

Is this the opposite of George Zimmerman, who had a "white" last name but identified as hispanic?

Well thank the Good Lord he wasn’t black. Don’t think I could stand the media coverage and mostly peaceful protests had he been.

K9, only class of protected officers left.

NB4 “They killed him to protect a dog!”

Made the mistake of reading some comments. Let’s just say, Worldstarhiphop comments make Fox News commenters sound like Yale grads.
On another note anyone else think there was some real friendly fire risks there? One of those rounds could have ricocheted. Cops on all sides.

Those cops didn't gear up like that for nothing.
Are you kidding? Cops love to get geared up for anything.
Some bad collateral damage risk there. Confronting a dangerous suspect at a store parking lot full of patrons. Add to the fact that other officers were in the line of fire. Not saying this guy didn't deserve to be taken out, but there are safer ways to do it than this.
Also, if a dog was trying to tear your nuts off then I think most men would do anything to make them stop.

And a good one. The propensity for cops to shoot dogs- even little ankle biters that couldn’t break the skin with a bite- is troubling to say the least. Especially when they kill a family pet because they’re in a foot pursuit or respond to the the incorrect address.
I’m good with this outcome tho.

Was he an illegal immigrant? If so, shoot him again.
