Exactly. You take the god with the bad in Nola, as with any city or town. And I'm by no means defending the staggering level of incompetence the S&WB has displayed, but I'll wait for someone to point out a city, any city anywhere, that's never encountered an infrastructure issue/failure.

Your hardon for NOLA is incredible. We get it. You hate NOLA. That's OK. Why the need to look back and continually shite on those of us who choose to stay? Worry about where you are now... Covington? Cali? Nobody cares where you live, why the obsession with where we live?

Regretting your decision? I think somewhere deep inside there is regret and longing to return to a place that actually matters.

The City of Covington has received clearance from the Department of Health and Hospitals to remove the city-wide Boil Water Advisory which was issued the Monday afternoon, August 22nd.

Due to an unexpected 12” water main break which resulted in a significant loss of pressure, the advisory was put into place as a precautionary measure required by DHH. Following standard procedure, DHH has reported that Covington water samples taken for testing are safe to use and consume.

Maybe the city would be in better shape if all the taxpayers stayed in Nola and helped be part of the solution rather than leave for suburbs because they didn’t want to live around “those people”

And how much of that deal will be grifter away by the SWB that refuses to modernize and refuses to update?

Why the hell would the residents be charged for a main break?

I had a leak on my property in the water meter. It leaked for months. I complained of it by phone and in writing on 13 different occasions. Finally after almost a year, they sent a crew out on a Sunday afternoon in the rain. They backed a backhoe onto my property and 2 guys did work while 8 other guys stood around.

3 months later my water bill sent to me was for 10 grand.

Good times.

It’s not just this one water main break, but a series of events with the S&WB that reveals just how close the system is to collapsing. I’m talking bad to the point where the water could stop running in areas of the city without a timeline of when it would be fixed.

The S&WB will send a water bill to the residents of the street- watch

And that’s not even a joke. The bulk of their $150 million in “unpaid bills” is when they bill people for $100,000 a month and wonder why it doesn’t get paid

Are you under the impression New Orleans infrastructure isn't a big topic in the cities politics? Or is this just another thing you want to hear yourself talk about?

I know it is and I should have said this.. But I was referring to infrastructure throughout the whole country.

The opposite has been happening for sometime now. The problem is the folks in charge of our tax dollars.
