third world countries don't have water mains that can break in the first place.

They also break and flood streets in every city in this country. Don't let me get in the way of your anti-New Orleans narrative though

Side note. The walk to Katz's is frightening, but it's worth it.

At some point if you live in the city you have to ask “why” not st least move to the suburbs?

Yeah and back in August, the city of Covington had a water main break so severe, the entire city lost pressure and was placed under a boil water advisory.

But by all means keep telling yourself that.

You must be new around here.
Those idiots are notorious for sending out outrageous water bills.

I say this all the time when talking with people about politics, government, etc.

While people are focused on all types of other bullshite, people should start making infrastructure a major issue. Politicians will focus on the things that the people who vote them in are concerned with.

Some of these politicians even make issues bigger than they are because they know it's an issue that people are emotional about and that's what gets people out to the polls.

But IMO this isn't something that should be taken care of after the fact. I am talking about everything from improving flooding issues to our interstates, bridges, etc. I might sound like I am exaggerating the problem, but is a lot that is impacted when there are problems in areas with bad infrastructure.

Are you under the impression New Orleans infrastructure isn't a big topic in the cities politics? Or is this just another thing you want to hear yourself talk about?

Because the main perk of living in New Orleans is living in the only city in Louisiana that offers "city living". If you're going to move away, move away. Don't move to a suburb so that you can "visit" New Orleans twice a month and go to Pat O's and Cade Du Monde (all the while claiming that you "live in New Orleans" when anyone asks)

Crawfish boil is probably healthier to drink than NOLA tap.

They may talk about it. But they don’t do anything about it.
