You’re paranoid.

You’re exponentially more likely to die driving to or from work. Or biking. Or walking. Or taking one of those fricking scooters. But you’re worried about working on the 30th floor of a building?

What happened 18 years ago was a tragedy the likes of which this country had never seen. But to have this one outlier change you and strike fear in your daily life is exactly what those assholes wanted. Don’t let them win.

My concern would breaking through the window. Unless the glass broke from the initial damage I imagine it would be tough to break though them with how thick they are built.

Respectfully, that’s not a concern so much as it is an errant poopooing of the idea. So the frick what if you can’t break the window? If you CAN, better to have the chute.

That's the first thing that went through my head. Ted from accounting freaks the frick out when someone two floors below him accidentally sets their trash can on fire and torches their office. After they put the fire out and sweep the building, they find Ted dead from blunt force trauma with his parachute on next to a bloody window.

People miscalculate risk all the time. You legit have a much higher chance of a serious head injury getting out of the bathtub. You want to bring a helmet to the bath?

Well, it sounds crazy. But if it came down to it, having a parachute when jumping from 100+ floors up really improves your chances than jumping without one.

Ive had enough time to chew on it, and that really does make a lot of sense.

I have heard of people keeping parachutes in their office after 9/11 in the tallest Houston building. It’s 75 floors, forget what it’s called.

I feel like as soon as you pull out a parachute in that situation, you'd be mauled by people trying to get it. You better pack a knife in there with it and start aiming for jugulars.

Anyway, sleep well OT.

Why not just a long rope with some sort of braking device.

Actually kinda figure this is what would happen to me:

Get the ‘chute open but then have a gust of wind slam me in to a building and knock me out resulting in death.

frick this just reminded me of the scene from deadpool 2

I hope you're good enough that you can avoid slamming into the many smaller buildings on your way to the ground.

Good thing, too. They'd be a lot more likely to get hit by planes if they were.
