I'm not so sure about that either. Why would they just get it orally? HPV also causes penile cancer. I have no doubt I've been exposed but I have refrained from yodeling and no problems with jim and the twins. Just playing it safe now. Wife not happy with my decision though. Articles like Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer make me refrain more. I'm not ready to die over it.

But I get your point. a 33% chance, by definition, is "possibly".

I had squamous cell on side of tongue at age 34. Was a non smoker. Dentist first noticed. Was treated at MD Anderson. That was 18 years ago. I've asked current physician about potential relationship to HPV and was told that it was unlikely as HPV-related cancers typically appear on base of tongue.

The HPV vaccine is more dangerous than getting cancer. This is one vaccine that needs to die/go away.

I think that is the only way. I think what he is saying though is sexualizing HPV is making it sound negative. I know people don't want to think of their kids having sex, but it is going to happen. Best to have them protected from Cervical cancer and Head and Neck cancers if possible. Not all are caused by HPV, but some are.
My mom died from cervical cancer. She asked my gf's girls to get vaccinated and they did. I also asked my best friend who has a boy and girl and they were both vaccinated. Yes some have died from side effects, but nothing is 100% safe. You have to weigh the bad with the good and make a decision. Sorry but if I knew my mom could have taken a vaccine when she was a girl and that could have saved her life, that would be a no brainer. I had to watch her die and there was nothing I could do to stop it. I can only think of a few other ways to die that could compare, ALS, etc.
Some people also are against vaccines. I don't get that but to each his/her own.

That is how you get it. But my point is that parents don't get their kids vaccinated because they think "Oh gee, my little Sally isn't having sex she's only 12". Well no shite your kid probably isn't having sex now, but she will in the future and getting vaccinated now is the only way to protect her in the future.

I can honestly say before my mom got cancer in 04, that other than my godmother getting cancer, my family was cancer free. I knew of it obviously but once my mom got cancer, for whatever reason, I became more aware of it and did a lot of research and still do to a certain extent. The other thing I have become is paranoid. I still believe that I will die from cancer, but that isn't a stretch if you see the statistics that in the future, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will get cancer. Depending on what you get and when you catch it will decide if you can beat it or not. I am not a very religious person, but I prayed my arse off when my mom found out she got cancer and then when it returned and was terminal, I was just beside myself. I hope a cure is found soon and that we won't have to worry about this. I am 42 so hopefully in my lifetime.

Kilmer is an avowed Christian Science guy. I wonder how this will play into his treatment. If I remember correctly, his ilk won't even take Tylenol.
