Looks like another casualty to consuming contaminated clams. Is anyone altering their oral habits due to the rise in oral cancer statistics possibly due to HPV?

There is no "possibly" about it. 1/3rd of non-smoking tongue/op/esophogeal cancers are secondary to HPV infection.
A vaccination rate of at least 80% would help. for boys and girls. It's only about 48% now.

Parents electing to not vaccinate both their boys and girls for HPV is quite aggravating. Because they sexualize HPV, many people decide not to vaccinate and then set their children up for very preventable cancers later in life.

But do you find that you are reluctant to yodel in the canyon due to this? I find myself apprehensive.

I know plenty of guys who will wear condoms but will take a dive without hesitation. This makes no sense to me.

The best argument I have heard was "if it were a vaccine for breast cancer, we would have a 100% vaccination rate."
I hate the stupid Puritan in our country.

I think it is absolutely something that not enough people are aware of. A frightenly high percentage of people aren't aware of the link between H&N/oral cancers and men having HPV.
I'm married and my wife received the Gardasil series, so hopefully I'm good to go

Still some risk with the balloon knot. Be careful next time you tongue punch the ol' fart box.

The Missus is going to be very happy about this news!

How can you be careful when throwing tongue darts at the dirt star?

See above edit. Sorry for the bad news. Send my regards to the Mrs.

what are the pros/cons with HPV vacs. I know the misses was saying she heard negatives but I am generally pro-vac.

Is an HPV vaccine effective on an adult?

There has been an observed relationship between Gardisil and a certain type of ovarian dysfunction that causes sterility. A tiny number of cases, but the epi studies showed Gardisil as the only shared component. No linkage or causation studies though.
ETA: Study was from the American college of Peidatrics

You are likely to have already had the virus by adulthood. Not much use for it after your mid 20's. I think the recommendation stops at 26.

Considering I almost certainly have it already there's no increased risk to just keep on lickin on, right?

I pour a shot of vodka on my girlfriend's snatch before dining. It kills the bad stuff AND gets me drunk. Win/win.
