These administrators would have quit on the spot in the 70s or 80s.

What pussies.

No, the student has a constitutionally protected right to have an American flag displayed on his vehicle in a school parking lot. The school is in the wrong here.

As long as everyone at the school (including staff) is being held to the same standard, I have no problems. Otherwise: problem.

That’s not how the Constitution works.

He should replace one with a pride flag and force the administration to say he has to remove the pride flag as well.

Officials reiterated the ban applies to any flag large enough to distract other drivers.

So, it's for the safety of other drivers? Are the flags illegal per the state's traffic laws?

I can 100% guarantee my high school, Catholic High would not have allowed this, even though we had the American flag everywhere in the school and even said the pledge every day

Well, Catholic High is a private school. The same rules don't apply to them.

Would they have done the same for pride flags?

I’d be willing to bet you just about anything if you sent into the school there would be pride flags in at least some classrooms. Guess they’re not worried about students being distracted while actually in class though.

Teachers aren’t law enforcement , it’s non moving, it’s in a public lot. Cops can’t even tell the kid shite. They can wait off property and pull him over, they’d be stupid to do it though.

I got a million downvotes last week when I started a thread suggesting that the American flag is now being treated like the Confederate flag.

I know my kid goes to a public school and has to wear a uniform.

If I sent her in an American Flag shirt the couldn't make her change?

Honestly don't know this answer.

WRONG… The administrators’ reaction is a distraction….and THEY need to be removed.

1. The school had zero issue with him displaying an American flag on his vehicle. Why are y’all trying make this about the American flag and the school hating the American flag? Bedford County is DEEP RED. 73% voted for trump in 2020

2. Would it be a constitutional right for him to ferry a flag with him around school if he wanted to? Are you sure that’s a constitutional right you can never be told in a school setting to not have the flag?

Well, that isn't what's happening here. So you aren't vindicated.

They were better off defining what is considered a large flag.

This is your people in a nutshell.

Make a stupid decision, say it's the rules, but forget to even define them because you can't see that far ahead.
