Perfectly rational decision being downvoted because some people are taking sides like they would in a high school football game. EVs are far better than ICE vehicles AT SOME THINGS. ICE vehicles are better at most things. Why does it bother you that this guy looks at his own circumstances and concludes his life will be easier if he replaces his ICE vehicle with an EV?

The majority of you obese, inbred rednecks get hard at the sight or mention of a Buc-ee’s, which you’re spending no less than 45 minutes to park, fuel up, shove your fat faces with pulled pork and then leave.
This is an interesting observation and it’s why I think the “Buc-ee’s” model will become the dominant fuel station model as electric vehicles become widespread.

Oh Soy Sally completely forgot he’ll be sitting at a “gas station.” Quite frequently while his environment destroying lithium battery takes 30+ minutes to charge up so he can get another 100 miles down the road before stoping again.

Jerry Rig Everything is a great channel.
He is running a mobility charity now that gets paraplegic better access to mobility like off rust wheelchairs and electric bikes for paras.
He also built a Library in Kenya. I sent in some books on that.
The man is doing a lot of good with his YouTube money.

Have you SEEN his videos?
He tears down EVERY cell phone and electronic. That's his claim to fame. He does a lot towards helping people fix phones.
He also does a ton of charity work. Much better than some angry guy who tells people what not to watch or like.

There are videos that show how to fix damaged tesla cells. You tear open the battery pack. Check your continuity one by one until you find the damaged cell. Replace it. Seal it back up reattach he battery.
Tons of "I fixed $20,000 battery for $500 out there".
My point shade trees will figure it out.
. People said OBD2 would kill off Shade Trees. It didn't we just got more technical.
I'll always fix my own.
Taught myself transmissions from YouTube. I think battery cells are even easier.

Charge stops don’t typically take this long. 10-15 minutes on a fast charger will get you above 80% and you can be on your merry way again. 30-45 mins is more likely if you want to get closer to 100% and need the range. As chargers are becoming way more common, you don’t need to top off completely as often.

Was this supposed to be an argument in electrics favor?
I do think electric has a place. Large cities where you’re only commuting/driving with the city. If you have any need for longer distances electric is a gigantic waste of time.

No, I don’t own electric because I want longer range. Just clarifying charging isn’t as bad as people think. It’s gotten considerably better, especially as supercharging and third party options to that start to blend together.
Electric is still in its infancy, I’m interested to see it grow, but I won’t be an early adopter for it.

His videos are really good. He's a Rivian fan so I'm sure his intent wasn't to expose them. Similar to Hoovie "exposing" the Lightning when he's usually just gushing about it.
Then he made a ton of "I'm sorry Ford, please still give me stuff" videos.
After listening to Mr. Beast on Rogan and him talking about small guys making $24k a month and the more known people making 6 figures a month. Then he broke down the top people with advertising deals and all are making over a million a video.
Jerry rig everything just built a non profit and anther business that puts its profits into wheelchair development. He married a woman who broke her back in a horse accident.
He had a video installing an elevator in his house. The first day elevator install video I've ever seen.

That’s interesting…the test vehicle performed better than I thought and recharging didn’t seem to be much of an issue when he was able to access the high capacity charging station. I am far from being comfortable buying an electric vehicle, but I predict that within the next 15 years we will be looking at a workable alternative. I would be open to trying one when it suits my needs.

but what about the average guy with 10-20 acres that just needs to bush hog or plow for a garden?
Most obvious reason is cost. Go to a Lowes or Home Depot and look at what an EGO zero-turn costs compared to an Ariens, Cub Cadet, etc. Another issue is weight, an EV weighs considerably more than a comparable ICE vehicle. For tractors and farm equipment that means it costs more to move and runs more risk of getting stuck in a muddy field.

My carbon belching 6.7L Ford diesel will pull 10,000lb as fast as I want to pull it. And I don't have to stop every 100 miles.

Too many people just want to come in these threads and regurgitate inaccurate talking points they see on facebook or twitter and join in on an anti-EV circle jerk. It has actually gotten a little better since Elon got red pilled.

To quote Thomas Sowell, there are no solutions. There are just alternatives with different trade-offs.
If you want a vehicle with fewer moving parts likely to require maintenance, go electric but consider the trade-offs of lower range and longer time to refuel.
If you prefer longer distance to refuel and value your time, but are willing to endure more frequent maintenance over the years, go internal combustion.
While you make a good point, you are missing the person’s point to whom you replied to.
The issue is they are trying to take the option AWAY from the consumer. Not only by pushing EV’s that aren’t ready for mainstream use, but also using government regulations to completely do away with internal combustion engines on the assumption that EV’s will be ready for mainstream use whenever they actually do away with internal combustion engines.
