Not meeting again until next Wednesday. Shell is getting some sort of information from every contractor.

Shell will be happy to stay on the rolling 24 forever. I think USW made a mistake striking those plants so early in the process.

They are trying to split the NOB by getting the big sites to go on an offset schedule. Sunday will be an interesting day for this.

The whole thing sucks. My buddy works at Motiva Norco and has been there for a year. He hates the idea of strike and can't afford to spend weeks off. Like he was saying, the guys who are making top pay and have been there for a while, no big deal. Guys like him, it's a big deal.

The whole thing is retarded. No where else are you going to get the pay and benefits that they are already receiving with just a high school diploma. There are a lot of college grads that don't make that much. But it's not good enough.

Yeah, it is preached to young guys to save some buffer money for this. Which is fine, but hell it takes time to build that up. Older guys can stay out for several months. New guys are going to find it hard.

I just dont understand them taking a week off! That blows my mind. There are people out of work and they take a week before they resume talks again!

You think Shell gives a frick about the people striking? The people there may care, but corporations don't have feelings.

You'd be surprised how many people are affected not "directly" involved.

we have had 2 major projects either cancelled or indefinitely postponed, because of oil prices.. due to the postponement(and oil) we lower shipping rates and altering payment terms. 55 haulers decide not to run. and we are out beaucoupe $$.

EM Beaumont met tonight with the local. Nothing new. Offered to extend the offer on the table that expires on the 15th til Shell and national reached an agreement if they agreed not to walk until then. They turned it down.

I wish they would grow some balls and send them all packing.

I know they can't bc they would be shut down while training new ppl and for safety reasons but just saying.

We are ready if they walk. Probably the most prepared facility in the country.

Most facilities have said they will not initiate a lockout.

Word is that there will be more tonight or tomorrow and supposedly it's between Norco and Convent.
