I dont even know what days I get deliveries anymore. I won't have anything in my mailbox and check it 3 times, last being late after dark. Wake up and have stuff in my mailbox.

Won't get a delivery 1 day then get 2 the next day. I'll see 3 different usps vehicles pass through the neighborhood one 1 day. Hell the same one will pass 4 times. I don't guess they put deliveries in order.

Saw mail truck pulled to the side of the road this morning and the mail carrier was standing outside the back just going through packages. Dude was wearing grey sweatpants, crocs, a white undershirt and a knit cap. I legit thought someone had stolen a mail truck. He looked like a hobo. As I jogged by he looked up at me and I could see his USPS ID around his neck on a lanyard.

I guess they have no uniform code anymore? Zero chance I would answer the door for this guy.

my personal "favorite" usps bullshite is when you get the "delivery attempted...no access to delivery site" message on the tracking page...this is code for the mail carrier deciding not to finish their route that day because they wanted to go home early...

USPS customer service

I ordered several books to give as Christmas presents. They were ordered on 12/9/2024. I still have not received them.

I had no choice of shipping carrier. USPS is severely inefficient. My package arrived in Baton Rouge over a week ago and went to Lafayette. It is now delayed. No shite.

I bought an item from a 3rd party seller on Walmart’s site. Upon placing the order, I saw that the shipper is USPS. I knew it was a disaster waiting to happen. Package was suppose to arrive on Friday. So Friday, Saturday, and Sunday come with no package. I looked up the tracking number on usps site and it arrived in BR on Monday. I checked tracking Monday afternoon and it’s shipped to Gonzales. What a Cruel joke. Tuesdays its shipped back to BR. Finally got the package on Wednesday.

Sounds like the Seinfeld rental car reservation episode.

Here’s the truth. If USPS is handling your passport application, those applying for the first time are sent to the passport agency via Express (overnight) mail. If it’s a passport renewal, customer has the option of Express Mail or priority mail. Express Mail to the passport agency is NOT affected in any way by the regular mail which has been bottlenecked in the mail stream. Express Mail to the passport agency mailed from my office goes to Philadelphia, PA and has never arrived later than next day.
The clerk is referring to travel.state.gov website which states “it may take up to 2 weeks for applications to arrive at a passport agency or center.” I can assure you, if sent via Express Mail from the Post Office, this is not the same as mailing it Priority Mail.
Side note: Decades long career USPS employee here. For those of you who don’t know, the current Postmaster General was appointed by Trump. He has run mail delivery into the ground by changing logistics and implementing slower delivery service standards. Megan Brennan was the best PMG we have had during my employment. She actually got her start with USPS as a carrier and was very familiar with knowing how the mail needed to move to get from one place to another. When she was in charge, it wasn’t very often that I had to track missing packages for customers. Now it’s almost daily.
