So the driver tells the cops the car was on auto pilot when it crashed into the house and you claim it is fake news?

I bet he didn’t tell police he was taking a nap. Also, “FULL SELF
DRIVING” is a terrible misnomer. I’m sure somewhere in the literature (in very small print) it CYA by warning driver not to depend on FSD 100% to keep the vehicle COMPLETELY, 100% under control. Vehicle designers/manufacturers would be crazy not to CYA for liability purposes. Same drivers that believe a dog owner when they tell you their Pit Bull won’t bite them.

Passed one on I75 this morning that my wife swears was asleep with head resting against driver's side window. Was in middle lane at 75MPH keeping pace with car in front of it. I passed it on the left so my wife had a clear view.

Well, duh.. what was the dipshit going to say? Man I just crashed right into that house. It’s all my fault.

I got pulled over in my model 3 with FSD on because it did an illegal u-turn.

I didn't mention FSD. I told the cop that I was following the nav and didn’t see the sign…because that was the truth. I should have seen the sign and taken over.

Even with FSD, you’re still the driver. And you’re absolutely still the driver if you’re simply using autopilot (like the driver in the OP claims). Tesla autopilot is just adaptive cruise control so blaming it for crashing into a building is ridiculous.

The real silent nemesis is FSD being a left lane hog.

My FSD likes to be in the left lane if I have a right turn in 0.5 miles and vice versa. FSD is better than 99.9 percent of drivers And tip if you see a Tesla use it blinker more than 3 times in a row it’s in FSD so you can pull up put your blinker in and will let you in

Mine doesn’t do this. Drove from Charlotte to Greenville with it 100% and it used it to pass only.

What speed profile were you using?

I’ve driven mine from BR to Austin and BR to Pensacola, among several hundred trips all around town and barely touched the steering wheel.

The truth is that humans in control have a lot more accidents than the machines.

There are many cameras inside the car as the outside of it. That car would have alerted the driver and pulled out of FSD if the driver isn't somewhat alert.

I was on standard with a few hurries just testing it out. It took me a week to learn you can just put the blinker on to make it change lanes without terminating FSD.

It has now come out that the driver manually overrode the autopilot by pressing the accelerator to 100%.

I typically stay in Standard or Chill mode. As someone stated earlier, you can use the turn signal to have to car switch lanes without disengaging FSD. You can also press the accelerator to pass or to get over sooner if you need to. I press the accelerator sometimes, especially when at intersections and don't want to be as conservative as FSD is.
