If women wanted true equality, they'd demand the elimination of men's and women's designations and everyone competes for the same spots.

And another that is ignored. In order for the men to play for the national team...and risk injury....they have to be taken away from their club teams. Where many make serious bank.

They women are taken away from teams that only have small amounts of money to pay them. Money that btw is subsidized thanks to the men's side.

It's basic opportunity cost.

Let's set up a men versus women's game. If the women win, they get more. Equality.

If the men are bringing in more revenue then the men should be paid more.

Seriously? The same reason Uconn Women dominate and Mens College basketball has the most insane post season.

Parity doesnt exist in womens sports for a reason.

I get that and others have explain it a lot better. I was unaware that the rest of the world didn't invest in women's soccer.

I wonder how the U.S. women players are paid vs women players from other countries?

Which is irrelevant to the discussion. The women waited until they had a world cup year including a ten game victory tour to claim they made more revenue. Can someone do a per game breakdown?

Rummy, I get your argument, even if no one else does.

Wow, you are a fricking idiot.

Because soccer is 'vastly more popular' there and kids play soccer as soon as they can run -- what's that supposed to mean to me? I forgot, we don't have ANY kids who play soccer here in the U.S. Only the third world countries do such things.

So, what's your argument again? We're supposed to struggle against these teams because they have the same ability to start playing soccer as we do?

USWNT > USMNT and it's not even close.

At least they play the same amount of minutes on the same sized field unlike tennis where they only have to play 3 sets andn make just a much.

The Minnesota Lynx won the WNBA championship last year. The Minnesota Timberwolves are the fifth worst team in the NBA. Both teams have the same owner.

Since the Minnesota Lynx are better at what they do than the Minnesota Timberwolves are at what they do, should the Lynx players file a lawsuit to demand that their owner pay them more?

That pay is way too high. I didn't know they got paid a salary, assumed it was all sponsored.

The filing, citing figures from the USSF's 2015 financial report, says that despite the women's team generating nearly $20 million more revenue last year than the U.S. men's team, the women are paid almost four times less.

And counter with that being a a clearly deceitful number to use. Of course the year that women had their World Cup they would generate more revenue. How'd they do in 2014 when the men had theirs? Or any other year besides once every 4 years?

I'd really like to know the answer to this.

lol... The women's team has crushed the men's team in regards to success.

The U.S. is practically the only country on earth who gives a shite about women's soccer. That is why they are so dominant.

Contrast this with men's soccer which is the most popular sport in the world, and most US males only grow up around football/baseball/basketball.
