I just don’t understand why she was home alone “in active labor”.
I’d also like to know when the last time she had seen her OBGYN(assuming she was getting prenatal care).

I’ve had HELLP syndrome and preeclampsia in my last two pregnancies. Am pregnant again and am monitored very closely at a high risk specialist because once onset of symptoms take place, stuff goes down quickly. I am scared shitless if I’m being honest.
If this was her first, she may have had no idea what was happening. I didn’t realize I was on the brink of stroking out when it happened with my second. I just wondered why my upper stomach hurt, my vision was blurry and my BP suddenly went from normal to 165/105. It can be a pretty silent killer. And like her, I’m not a classic “at risk” patient who swells and gets huge. I was losing weight (nausea and headaches in third trimester) and had smaller than normal size babies bc of growth restriction that was taking place unbeknownst to anyone until the end. I hate to see this happen to anyone but it’s particularly frightening given she was alone and in active labor at 32 weeks. What a horrible way to go. I’m assuming her baby died, as well?

Something tells me she wasn’t trying to. She was 32 weeks and it was her first child. If she was also struggling mentally then who knows what the circumstances and situation looked like. It all sounds like a really terrible situation all together.
