That is not true and also not what is happening.
Walmart sells flour food for cheaper than Whole Foods. Whole Foods isn't price gouging.

I agree Gouging occurs when theres a very large difference out of proportion to reason
That station in Ohio was at 5 05. Just a few miles into West Virginia?3 65.
There were other stations in Ohio under 4. The station in question was right off the interstate in an isolated area and IMO this is gouging

You ever stop and think about how places close to the interstate or major intersections on highways are on more expensive land/leases? Yeah I see as much as .12 a difference per a gallon on a 20 mile drive all the time down a state hwy. Supply and Demand and who's business model needs the higher prices is what the retail side of this gas debate is about.

That's not why gasoline is high right now.
In general I agree. I was trying to point out as others along with others that extra taxes and such are a contributing factor to higher prices in certain cities or states.

Nope. Supply and demand.
Also you have no idea of the factors that go into those prices.
The owner should not be forced to sell gasoline below market value. Unless you are big on socialist and communist leanings.

What is interesting is that taxes stay the same no matter the price of the gallon of gasoline. They do not increase when gas increases.
And several states suspended their taxes during this time.

Frick all those Yankees and their toll roads. We ought to put up toll booths and get them snowbirds

Big beautiful gas prices.

You laugh. You cant much cross West Virginia without paying toll. 4 50 a pop.
Ohio has one they hit you for 4 75 each time you encounter a booth
MeeMaw could make tons with all the major roads we could fleece those Yankees on and those beachgoing Corndogs too

I mean, yea in a lot of ways. Not having gender confused communists in the white house kind of matters. Once Iran backs off their war, it's back to lowered inflation we saw immediately under Trump.

quote:Indiana has put a moratorium on the gas tax, but they've opened toll roads, deferred maintenance, passed a lot of costs on to local municipalities, and planned even more tolls to offset it. So it’s kind of six of one, half a dozen of the other.
This is where we should agree. If your gas prices are way above areas or states near you, start blaming your local government.

If only we had a deal in place to prevent that with full oversight from inspectors. Oh wait

Do you have a high school education? I feel sorry for you. Expand your mind a bit, go outside your comfort zone, and try to figure out what is really happening, because that ain’t it.
