There is no shortage of diesel in the US. The shortage is internationally with refined products not getting out out of the Middle East. Crude is but not refined products. Notably the syncrude from the two GTL plants, Shell's Pearl and Sasol's Oryx, in Qatar which produce mostly zero sulfur diesel, and base oil for lubes.
