no. To be fair to her, she grinded and was a hustler with her job, traveling, etc.

I just think she thought she'd find happiness after putting in all that work

Is it harder to become an owner of a HVAC company or to become a high-level manager (didn't want to go up to C-suite) within a Fortune 500?

Not sure but your average plumber is not cut out to own and run a business so it really is a moot point for this discussion.

well almost anyone can own a HVAC company, but that doesn't mean they are super successful

there are lots of guys that own their own plumbing, HVAC, electric companies, they employ themselves and maybe some cousin, and they live in shitty trailers because they work just enough to get by

the guys that are owning companies with vehicle fleets and commercials, those guys would be successful anywhere

This is Joe's Dept Of Education; all that matters is how they identify!

And it's very rare. People are terrible on here when it comes to discussing the pros/cons of the trades.

There is certainly a need for the trades and there's a path to success but there's a lot of reasons why previous generations steered their kids away from those professions.

-Body breakdown, the trades are typically quite back breaking and put a lot of folks out of commission much earlier than a desk job type. You end up with all sorts of nagging injuries that make later life miserable.

-Low pay, there is a good period of very low pay before you get other licenses etc. And start making decent money

98% of the tradesmen will make less than your average business/engineer/STEM major.

So what men are these women going to marry since women refuse to marry down(in their mind)? Hypergamy is real.

My SIL is about to graduate med school and is about to marry a guy that works in education.

this is probably more true than most in this thread want to believe

every woman in my family (wife, mom, sister, SIL) has a college degree and all eventually became SAHMs

Gender is how a person feels at any given time. Is that chart referring to how they felt on graduation day? How they feel today? Or is it referring to sex?

If I'm a young dude then I would learn welding with shittons of high paying welding jobs more than even engineers if willing to travel

Depends on your other options.

Welding is a very unhealthy trade and you are dependent on your body. As you get older, working a trade that requires good health and physical ability is not ideal.

Welding is bad for your eyes and your lungs.
