US carbon dioxide emissions hit a 27-year low last year and are projected to continue to decline, the result of increased use of natural gas, renewables, and energy efficiency.

Awesome news yet the earthmuffins don’t acknowledge it

With those numbers, we might get a break on our massive payments to fight climate change. Because that’s what combats changes in the planet’s climate: paying for carbon credits, paying higher taxes, and paying other governments.

The United States has done an amazing job of curbing all emissions (including CO2). This has been done while increasing productivity. In many metros areas, the air is cleaner today than any point in history since the industrial revolution.

Yep, their graphs are probably inversely proportionate. So this basically doesn't make a fricking bit of difference. Also, I'm going to keep driving my diesel truck for another couple hundred thousand miles and I will buy a newer version of the same thing at some point. Doing my best to help.

Am I the only one that misses buses belching filth in the air and smog alerts? Waking up to the sweet smell of sulfur in the air , every second car that went by was like a fire in progress. Ahhhhh... the 70s. Those were the days.

It will only continue dropping thanks to CO2 sequestration. Look for Louisiana to be permitting it really soon
