Is there a more defeating job than the guy who goes to hotels and airports selling the latest in innovative urinal cake technologies?

Sounds kind of fun, actually.

I bet he gets pissed a lot.

I have a friend who uses this as his job when he flies so he doesn't have to speak to the person sitting next to him.

Same guy also sales the latest and greatest floor cleaning zambonis. Damn good money to be made in janitorial sales.

That's actually a fantastic idea.
I hate when people talk to me for more than about 2 minutes on a flight. A nice intro is fine but shut up soon after so I can relax.

Yeah, the guy sells perfumes and candy in the scrip club bathroom and expects a tip for handing you a paper towel has got to be near the bottom of the job satisfaction spectrum.

I actually know a guy in janitorial sales who spends a lot of time in bathrooms and he makes between 150k to 200k a year.

You've never cleaned a chicken house out have you?
Janitor at a sperm bank got to be pretty defeating as well.

I've always heard... when you hate your job, just imagine that somewhere in the world someone is cleaning a Taco Bell bathroom.

They're called "Piss blocks" in the industry.
Hotels, restaurants, municipalities and other shoppers get them from a hotel supply, a janitorial supply, an office supply, a paper company or, these days, Sams/Costco.
My first job out of college was working for a manufacturer's rep in the sanitation supply business. We sold them to all of those outlets and they sold them to the end users. I took orders for little stuff like that when I sold garbage cans, mop buckets, etc.
We had a few end users we sold to in Dallas. Our largest customer was Southland Corp (7-11). They bought over a million dollars yearly in mop buckets and garbage cans alone from us in the early 80's. Grandys bought some garbage cans that fit in the wall from me six weeks into the job. I had about 40 accounts in Dallas and covered East Texas, North Louisiana, the whole state of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.

See, most people flip the cakes. I replace the cakes. That's the Donny Difference.

True story. While at a park my sister took my niece to potty in a port-jon. After they came back to the picnic table my sister recounted how my nieces hand probably needed to be washed because she only used the air freshener to wash her hands. After some prodding I informed them that she had used a urinal cake as soap.

Before people had VCR's at home, to watch porn they went to a XXX movie arcade that had plastic booths with a little 12" monitor in the wall. They sold you tokens to watch movies. In high school I went into one of them on Bourbon St. with a date and another drunk couple. It was kind of a joke/dare for us. Everyone else was there to fap.
There was a man at the end of the hallway leaning on a mop that was soaking in soapy water. That is the worst job I could have imagined at that time.
