They should have been smart and fixed stuff during Covid.
Can only have groups of 6? Here's your crew during this time.
Clean drains. Fix leaks. Work on stuff while no one is on the roads.

They blame it on “subsidence”. That’s code for “Democrats”.
Well, the subsidence is the issue.
The absolute lack of maintenance/upkeep is Democrats

If enough people leave, will that reduce the amount of water needed and the pressure needed to deliver that water?
In theory yes, and well over 70,000 have wisely left since the ridiculous Road Home program and the stupidity of its citizens electing Teedy twice supported with 2 endorsements from the states largest newspaper.
The city left a dead body hanging for months on a failed inspection/construction sequence. You only live once; wasting that life in a shithole that hates you and your business if you are foolish enough to set up shop in NOLA is a fools errand.

I’d assume when they close valve on the previous broken line the remaining active lines see a surge in pressure and any weak spots are exposed.

I brushed my teeth with the faucet this morning. I’m fricked!

Looks like Katrina. New Orleans pipes are beyond fricked. This director of SWB just said everything is fricked and have no way of being proactive of this.
They were working on fixing this very pipe when it burst

These are words to live by in general. Worst tap water I have ever had.
One of the few redeeming qualities about BR is its high quality tap water.

That read like Al Qaeda attached Carrollton Ave.

We should just have "no need to boil your water" alerts at this point. That's more uncommon.

Cantrell didn’t have time to worry about all that shite.

This time, water is seeping into people's homes and destroying their property. This ancient infrastructure is a powder keg.

Does SWB blame the feeze again or is this a result of the recent earthquakes?

Move to another parish where this is not a commonplace occurrence.

And last city in America with a working sewerage system.
To be fair, it's a water supply pipe, not a sewer pipe.
Very different. One delivers clean water under pressure, the other takes away poopy, dirty water via gravity.
