Basically it's when people say "I want to speak to the manager." They're angry over something dumb they did, and they want you to make concessions. We don't make concessions. We don't have those kind of resources.

I am guessing this isn’t the first time the little girl has seen mommy hauled off by the police. She is too distraught and knows that she will be going to jail. That’s the reaction of a 6 year old who has experience with mom being in jail over similar behavior in the past.

People need to grasp that being CALM and POLITE will get you everything. Especially when the CS people are used to dealing with idiots.
My connection just now was delayed. There was another flight departing from the next gate that actually arrives an hour earliier. I just walked over and quietly asked the gate attendant if she had a seat available. I told her I would sit on the wing. She banged me out a ticket in record time, walked me down and got me on as they were closing the door and then upgraded me to boot. And she THANKED ME for being polite.
Meanwhile, people think they will get ahead by yelling at people.
