Well, at least those kids got a lesson early on in life that you can’t show up a few minutes before your flight and expect to just walk right onto the plane.

Yeah but she showed up 10 minutes before the flight departed.
When you book these budget airlines you have to realize there probably won't be a plan B to get you to your destination if something goes wrong. The legacy carriers can put you on a later flight or route you through another hub.
